When the passing palace maids saw them, they couldn't help but look at the two of them in envy.

As Wei Yi walked down the palace path while carrying Wangchuan, the Wangchuan in his arms gently caressed his chest.

It was unknown how Wangchuan managed to muster so much strength when he was thin.

When they arrived at the entrance of the palace, it was completely silent outside. It was obvious that the people at the banquet had not come out yet.

The servant's eyes widened when he saw Wu Chuan, who was in his family's thousand year old embrace. If Wei Yi had not been present, his mouth would have probably been the size of a pigeon's egg.

He had always thought that a thousand years would be filled with a cold-blooded, heartless, unapproachable appearance. He never thought that he would still be able to see this scene.

The attendant suppressed his shocked expression and closed the curtain on Wei Yi.

Wei Yi naturally sensed his subordinate's astonishment and was too lazy to bother with it. Right now, all of his attention was on Wu Chuan.

Wei Yi wanted to try and remove the hand that was tightly holding onto his clothes. After trying for a long time, it was of no use, so he allowed Wu Chuan to wrinkle the brocade robe on his body.

Perhaps the bumpiness and the speed of the carriage made him frown uncomfortably.

Moments later, the attendant heard his thousand-year-old voice from behind the curtain, ”Steady, slow down.”

The servant answered carefully, and the carriage began to slow down.

After an hour, they finally arrived at the Wei Residence.

Wei Yi got off the carriage first and carried Wangchuan out. He was just about to move forward.

Su He, who was behind him, saw this and asked Wei Yi, ”Thousand years old, why don't I help you carry it?”

Wei Yi stopped and turned around, but it was just a glance. Although it was just a single glance, there seemed to be an endless amount of pressure within it.

Su He hurriedly retreated a few steps, lowering his head, not daring to meet Wei Yi's gaze.

Wei Yi paid no attention to Su He who was standing on the spot and directly carried him towards the house.

Inside the Forgotten River House.

After Wei Yi entered, he gently placed Wu Chuan on the wooden bed as he watched Wu Chuan with a gentle and somewhat fragmented gaze.

Recalling the sight of Wangchuan crying while holding him in the palace, Wei Yi covered his mouth and laughed lightly.

Even he didn't think that Wangchuan would have such a pitiful scene, it really made his heart ache.

The candle flame danced on Wangchuan's creamy face, reflecting a more obedient and gentle look than usual.

Wei Yi was extremely fond of seeing the cute and innocent look on the young girl's face. Only in this way would he be able to take off his own strong mask.

He quietly sat beside the bed and looked at Wu Chuan's sleeping face. He knew that it was getting late, so he stretched out his hand to cover Wu Chuan with the quilt. Just as he was about to leave, he felt someone tugging at his sleeves from behind.

Wei Yi's eyes showed slight astonishment as he turned his head around, only to see Wangchuan's hand reaching out and grabbing tightly onto the corner of his clothes. The strength of the hand actually made it difficult for Wei Yi to struggle free for a moment, causing a helpless smile to appear on his face as he looked at Wangchuan.

He leaned his head against the chair beside him and closed his eyes with a smile on his face.

That night, Wu Chuan slept extremely soundly.

”...”

The morning sun shone through the gap of the wooden window onto the house, and outside the window, there seemed to be a few unknown birds happily crying out.
