Chapter 15: A miraculous change overnight

While listening to Tian Lang, Xia Qin was sipping a cup of tea and smiled, “I want to see how this brat performs three days from now. I am curious if he earns a thousand taels by then.” Tian Lang said in disbelief, “How can it be, at most he’ll try to rob someone.”

Xia Qin had a murderous look on her face as her lips slowly moved, “The Bai family will be completely finished if he can’t make it. At that time, we will extend a hand towards their shops, killing two birds with one stone.”

“Oh? It seems Miss Xia has already planned for this?” When Tian Lang heard what Xia Qin had said, he laughed. Xia Qin faintly smiled, she didn’t say much. She had complete confidence in crus.h.i.+ng the Bai family. As for Lu Feng, he was at the mountain looking at the field which the weedicides had been poured in and asked, ”Brother-in-Law, how long will it take for the weeds to go away?”

Bai Yao dejectedly said, “This will take around two hours, then you can plow the field.” Lu Feng slightly smiled, “En.” Then he went to find a large rock, and placed his entire body on it to sleep.

Bai Yao worriedly asked, “You don’t want to think of a method?” Lu Feng smiled, “It will all turn out well. Brother-in-Law, you can just watch from the side.”

The Green Spirit Fruit trees were in the process of growing slowly. Right now, there were many people watching Lu Feng did not go in the painting and he could only lie down and think about the situation regarding the trees. When he closed his eyes, there appeared to be a screen monitoring the situation of the trees.

He didn’t know why this painting fused with his body. He knew it wasn’t an ordinary magical treasure, that was why he was constantly thinking about what had happened in that bas.e.m.e.nt. He then opened his eyes, Bai Yao was next to him and thought Lu Feng had thought of an idea so he asked, “What happened, did you think of an idea?”

Lu Feng smiled and quietly said, “Brother-in-Law, let me ask you a question. Could you answer it for me?” Bai Yao suspiciously asked, “Is it related to the thousand gold tael situation?” Lu Feng nodded his head, “Of course it is related.”

Bai Yao could only say, “Then ask.” Lu Feng quietly looked at Bai Yao and inquired, “There is a run-down house next to the house Yu’er is living in, what is it all about?” Bai Yao wondered, “Is this important to you?”

“Of course.”

Lu Feng quickly added, “Can you talk about it?” It was as if Bai Yao was recalling something from the past before saying, “That place was my grandfather’s house, but then he left. The things that are in the bas.e.m.e.nt are all his. Everyone thought he would eventually return, so that is why there was no one living in there. Up till now it has been treated as an abandoned house.”

Lu Feng did not expect that the house was Bai Yao’s grandfather’s. He contemplated for a while before asking, “Then was he a painter?”

“What painter? Are you talking about an expert painter1?”

Lu Feng didn’t know what this world called people who drew things. He knew there was a reason for it. So he made an En sound while Bai Yao smiled, “It’s not possible, the way he painted was quite crazy so he is called the mad painter. He disappeared over a decade ago and no one knew where he went. Thus his name was gradually forgotten.”

Lu Feng made an Oh sound and nodded his head. Bai Yao turned his head around and saw the withered weeds, he said, “The weeds are gone now, how are you going to plant the seeds.” Lu Feng chuckled, “Take a look.”

Lu Feng started to dig holes in the dirt. In his hands were ten seeds, the only difference was these ten seeds had already been swapped with different ones. The original ten seeds were inside Lu Feng’s special s.p.a.ce and had grown into trees which had produced numerous fruits. The ten seeds he had now were from the already ripe fruits which contained seeds.

As for these seeds, there was no way Bai Yao would know that Lu Feng had switched them out. As for the people observing him, they were not able to look at him closely. After sowing these seeds, he smiled, “Tomorrow we will be able to see the trees.”

Bai Yao looked skeptical and said, “How can that be, these seeds take a year to grow.” Lu Feng smiled confidently, “Don’t forget that I’m the Living Immortal’s disciple, I can make them grow in three days.”

When Bai Yao heard this, he stammered, “Y-y-you’re right.” Lu Feng chuckled, “Time to wait then.” Bai Yao was expectantly looking at the seeds, while Lu Feng continued lying on the rock. In his mind, he was looking at the fruit trees outside of the ancient house.

The thing that surprised Lu Feng the most, was the fact that the trees grew more than ten fruits each. Some trees even bore hundreds of fruits. He didn’t expect that to happen, and guessed that the extra fruits were due to the Black Soil.

However, he muttered, “Three days, not to say the least, a thousand fruits is achievable. With this kind of progress he was seeing, even three thousand fruuts is not a problem.”

However, no one was aware that Lu Feng took the Black Soil, and that he used fake seeds to deceive everyone. And so, the truth was kept from them till evening. When the Head’s servant served the food, Bai Yao frowned and said “It seems like the seeds have not sprouted yet.”

Lu Feng rea.s.sured Bai Yao, “Be at ease, just sleep for now and tomorrow they will appear.”
