Chapter 989 - A Moment of Panic (5) (1/2)

w.a.n.g Mandy was worried that Mdm Ruan’s words would unintentionally raise suspicion.

However, luckily, everyone was currently overjoyed, and therefore, no one noticed anything wrong with Mdm Ruan’s words and simply thought that because the young miss suffered outside, she lost weight.

“Yaya, what happened to your throat? Why is your voice so hoa.r.s.e?” w.a.n.g Yazhi asked, concerned. Ever since w.a.n.g Mandy called her mom, w.a.n.g Yazhi noticed that something wasn’t right with her daughter-in-law’s voice.

w.a.n.g Mandy had already prepared an answer to this question. Back at the police station, when Du Gang asked, she could only force herself to smile and say that it was inflammation.

Now, w.a.n.g Mandy once again chose to force herself to smile, and she slightly lowered her head, not letting anyone meet her eyes, yet intentionally making everyone see the tears br.i.m.m.i.n.g in her eyes.

“Nothing. It’s only a slight inflammation. It’ll be fine after some rest.”

Everyone became silent upon seeing the way the young miss acted.

Mdm Ruan glared at w.a.n.g Yazhi. What kind of question was that? Ling Tianya was kidnapped, so of course, she shouted. Also, no one knew what kind of torment she suffered through. Anyways, since her throat was broken, then they should stop asking about it and making her feel bad.

w.a.n.g Yazhi also realized that she shouldn’t have asked the question. Therefore, she immediately changed the topic and carried the tiny rice ball in front of w.a.n.g Mandy.

“Tiny rice ball, look, it’s mommy…Did you miss mommy? Mommy is back!” While speaking, w.a.n.g Mandy placed the tiny rice ball into w.a.n.g Mandy’s arms. “Yaya, you don’t know. During the time you weren’t here, the tiny rice ball would cry every day in search of his mom, especially the first couple of days. He missed you a lot and would cry every day. He wouldn’t even drink milk. Our tiny rice ball’s mommy is back!”

w.a.n.g Mandy stiffly took the tiny rice ball from w.a.n.g Yazhi’s arms. She had never been a mother before, and she didn’t like kids in general, more so since it was Ling Tianya’s child.
