Ling Tianya had none of her things. Her bag and phone were both left in Ruan Zeyan’s car, and he was nowhere to be found. She had to find a way to leave this place.

Just as she was about to step towards the main door, a woman in a maid’s uniform stopped her. There was a smile on her face, but it was just out of courtesy. Ling Tianya could see the disdain and contempt hidden deep in her eyes.

“Good morning, Miss Ling. My name is Mandy, Mr Ruan had given instructions to not allow you to leave.” The lady closed the door that was wide open, isolating Ling Tianya from the world outside.

“What do you mean?” Ling Tianya’s furrowed her brows slightly. “You’re illegally locking me up here?”

Mandy smiled, but ignored Ling Tianya’s words, pointing at the dining area not far away. “I believe you must be hungry, breakfast is prepared for you, Miss Ling.”

“I’m not going to eat breakfast, I want to leave here right now!” Mandy’s att.i.tude rubbed Ling Tianya the wrong way, but what made her more angry was Ruan Zeyan caging her.

Watching Ling Tianya open the door to the outside world, Mandy let her, merely standing in the same spot. “Ms Ling, I would advise you to not waste your energy. This is an island in the middle of the lake, there’s only one way in and out, and that road is under lock down from Mr. Ruan’s orders. Even if you walked out of the villa, you wouldn’t be able to leave the island anyway. Unless you swim that is.”

Ling Tianya froze, feeling the gentle morning breeze coming from the lake. The lakefront was calm, but she was anything but.

Swim back? She couldn’t swim at all, and Ruan Zeyan clearly hadn’t forgotten that!
