Chapter 520 (2/2)

……

The next day they got up and Aunt Zhang had cooked breakfast.

”Come and eat dumplings!” Aunt Zhang said with a smile.

”I was so full last night that I didn't feel like digesting.” Guo Xiang touched his belly.

”Today it's Vegetarian dumplings. The old tradition in Beijing used to be vegetarian on the morning of the first day of the lunar new year, but now people like to eat meat dishes, so they all wrapped meat. They ate too much last night, and today they eat lighter.” Aunt Zhang said.

”Good!” Guo Xiang took a bowl and filled a bowl for himself and Gu Zhennan respectively. ”Aunt Zhang, when did you pack it? I didn't have time at my house yesterday.”

”I got up early this morning to pack it. You're still sleeping. I got up first when I was old and had less sleep.” Aunt Zhang said.

”You worked hard.” Guo Xiang nodded.

”It's not hard. I'm glad to see you eat.” Aunt Zhang smiled.

”By the way, where's grandpa?” Guo Xiang asked, didn't see Gu Xide.

”Gu woke up once before. I cooked some for him first, ate a few and went back to his room.” Aunt Zhang said.

”Isn't it uncomfortable?” Guo Xiang asked hurriedly.

”It doesn't look like it either. Maybe I ate too much last night and couldn't digest it.” Aunt Zhang said.

”Then I'll go and have a look!” Guo Xiang hurriedly got up and went to Gu Xide's room. He seemed to fall asleep again.

Guo Xiang gave him a pulse. It seems that there is no problem.

”How's it going?” Gu Zhennan asked.

”Maybe the firecrackers were too loud last night and didn't sleep well. Let him have a good rest. I'll prescribe some digestive medicine for him later. It shouldn't be a problem.” Guo Xiang said.

”That's good!” Gu Zhennan nodded. The old man is most afraid of getting sick. It's not so easy to get better when he gets sick all his life.

The two returned to the hall to eat dumplings.

As soon as Guo Xiang ate it, it was really a vegetable filling. There were carrots, cabbage, fungus and dried tofu in it. It was very delicious and not greasy.

”Aunt Zhang, the vegetable dumplings are delicious.” Guo Xiang said.

”Eat more if it's delicious!” Aunt Zhang smiled. She didn't have children herself. She treated Guo Xiang as her own children.

”By the way, it tastes better with Laba garlic.” Aunt Zhang took a dish of Laba garlic. It was green and beautiful.

Guo Xiang ate dumplings. ”By the way, Aunt Zhang, do you know if there is any interesting place in the capital today?”

”Fun?” Aunt Zhang thought, ”the temple fair must be very lively today. But Zhennan, don't go to your mother's house today? ”

It is a tradition in Beijing that the son-in-law must go to his mother-in-law's house to pay New Year's greetings on the first day of the new year, and the daughter-in-law and son-in-law will go back together on the second day of the new year.

However, because of the trouble, many people don't go until the second day of junior high school, so they don't have to run twice, especially if they live far away.

”No, I've agreed with my mother to go again tomorrow, so I don't have to run twice.” Guo Xiang said.

”That's OK. Have a good time today.” Aunt Zhang nodded.

”Shall we go to the temple fair?” Guo Xiang asked Gu Zhennan.

”OK.” Gu Zhennan nodded. He didn't care. In fact, he didn't love excitement very much, but as long as his daughter-in-law wanted to go, he would accompany him.

”Let's go and have a look later?” Guo Xiangyang raised his eyebrows and asked Aunt Zhang, ”where is the temple fair more lively?”

”The most lively should be the Ditan temple fair, and others include Fulong temple and Huguo temple...”

”Then let's go to the Ditan?” Guo Xiang looks at Gu Zhennan.

”Good!” Gu Zhennan nodded.
