Chapter 9 (2/2)
”Go back to the house and have a rest.” As Wang Guiying spoke, she bolted the door of the hospital. ”How many kilograms of grain did you buy?”
”I spent four yuan and bought twenty Jin.” Guo Xiang said.
”How did you buy so much?” Wang Guiying is a little distressed.
”Buy more and you can make it through this month. You always have to eat.” Guo Xiang smiled.
”How much is a kilo?” Wang Guiying asked again.
”Twenty cents.” Guo Xiang replied.
”Oh, why is it so expensive? Isn't it sixteen cents? ” Wang Guiying stopped.
”Yes, but I forgot to bring my food ticket, so it's more expensive. That's what the village head said.” Guo Xiang said.
Wang Guiying nodded, ”blame me. When you left, you forgot to remind you to bring food stamps. There are still some food stamps at home.”
Gu Zhennan brought food stamps back from his unit. Food stamps are not needed to buy food in the countryside, but it is inevitable that sometimes you have to go to the city. You have to use food stamps to eat in the city, so everyone defaults that food is cheaper if you have food stamps, and it is more expensive if you don't have food stamps.
Gu Zhennan is in other provinces. Food stamps can't be used in general. He brought them back after changing the national food stamps, which is better than ordinary food stamps.
”It's all right, mom. The food stamps will be useful after they are kept.” Guo Xiang comforted Wang Guiying.
”By the way, you said Dr. Ji fell. Is it serious?” Wang Guiying asked.
”It's serious. I broke my legs.” Guo Xiang said, ”but Dr. Ji is very powerful. He just connected his leg. It hurts me.”
”Broken leg?” Wang Guiying exclaimed, ”I'll go with you tomorrow morning. Dr. Ji has excellent medical skills and good people. Our whole village depends on him for medical treatment. His charge is not expensive. He doesn't charge for some families who really have no money. He's a good man!”
”Really?” If Guo Xiang thinks about it, it seems that he is right.
But she doesn't know whether the medical skills are good or not. After all, there are some minor diseases in the countryside, such as colds and fever. Most doctors are competent. As for bone setting, it may be ancestral. Many traditional Chinese medicine rely on one skill for a lifetime.
The next day was the weekend. Guo Er didn't have to go to school. In the morning, everyone ate sweet potatoes. Wang Guiying and Guo Xiang discussed going to see doctor Ji and getting the food back by the way.
When he arrived at Dr. Ji's house, he was already sitting in hall with the door open, but no one was seeing a doctor.
”Good morning, Dr. Ji. Have you had breakfast?” Wang Guiying greeted Ji Changlin.
Ji Changlin shook his head. ”Not yet. It's inconvenient for his legs.”
”I've heard from my daughter-in-law. Come and see if I can help you. Shall I make breakfast for you?” Wang Guiying said.
”That's trouble.” Ji Changlin nodded without politeness.
As soon as Guo Xiang saw that he was on his own, his twenty kilograms of grain was still there, so he took it down.
”Did you forget last night? Just take the food away later. ” Ji Changlin glanced at Guo Xianglin.
”Yes.” Guo Xiang nodded and looked at the bike with the broken chain. ”Your bike chain is broken. Let me repair it for you.”
”Will you?” Ji Linchang looked at Guo Xiang curiously.
”Try it.” Guo Xiang smiled and took down the chain.
As soon as I saw the broken part, the chain bolt was all there, but it was loose, so I took it off.
Asked Ji Changlin if he had any tools, found a hammer and screwdriver in the toolbox, fastened the chain mesh and bolt, put a screwdriver on the bolt, fastened the chain mesh on both sides, hit the bolt with a hammer, and the chain was connected.
Then put the chain on the bicycle shaft and shake the foot pedal. The chain can work normally, which is repaired.
Ji Changlin looked at Guo Xiang in surprise. The girl is very capable and knows medical skills. It seems that she is not an ordinary person.
It's a pity that I lost my memory, otherwise I can't be reduced to this small place.
