Chapter 614 - Ji Nuan Looked at the Address Written in the Paper and a Dark Gleam Flickered Across Her Eyes (2/2)

Ji Hongwen turned around and went up first.

For some reason, Ji Nuan felt that Ji Hongwen was going to tell her something important. She pondered and followed him upstairs.

When she came back to the study and closed the door, Ji Hongwen looked back at her and said, “I know you have always wanted to hear more about your mother, but you never mentioned it because I didn’t want to talk about it. But today, when I saw you take this painting back, I realized that although you were still very young when your mother passed away, it doesn’t mean that you don’t care about your mother, and it doesn’t mean that you really don’t want to know where your roots are.”

Ji Nuan looked at him calmly. “Dad, I wanted to put this painting back to the original position just because it reminds me of my childhood. Don’t take me wrong.”

“Really?” Ji Hongwen looked at her and smiled meaningfully. And then he sighed with a smile. “I didn’t want to tell you who your real father is. After all, those are not pleasant memories for me, your mother, or for that person. There is even animosity between us and him. But if I don’t want to mention it, are you really going to spend your whole life without knowing who your real father is? If it’s your choice, I certainly won’t talk about it and I don’t want to talk about it.”

Ji Nuan remained silent.

Ji Hongwen knew what she meant. He sighed again. “I heard that you had some contacts with the Xiao family recently. I think someone smart as you have sensed something even if I don’t tell you.”

There was something that seemed to be hidden under a thin piece of paper. She was calm on the surface, but her mind was in a whirl.

The Xiao family…

“I really don’t want to mention the past, but it seems that bastard will take you back into the Xiao family after he finds out about the truth. Since the truth can’t be hidden anymore, I might as well tell you the truth.” Ji Hongwen said and put a piece of paper with an address on it on the table. “You can visit this place when you’ve got time.”

Ji Nuan looked at the address written in the paper and a dark gleam flickered across her eyes.

——

After leaving the Ji family, Ji Nuan went straight back to Yuehu Bay.

Her hair had grown a lot lately. It was more than ten centimeters under her shoulders. After the shower, she blew her hair and came out, looking at the phone on the end table and the note with the address she had brought back.

She blow-dried her hair, put down the hairdryer, and sat down on the sofa. She picked up the note and looked at it for a while. She really didn’t have much work lately and could go to this place.

She picked up her phone and was about to send a message to her office, telling them that she planned to take a few days off.

As soon as she clicked open WeChat, however, she saw the messages from Mo Jingshen. He sent her the last message that night when he asked her what kind of noodles she wanted, and she answered anything would do.

His WeChat avatar was still her photo and his user name remained blank. He didn’t share anything into his WeChat Moments.

It seemed that he only used WeChat to contact her and not for anyone else.
