Chapter 285 - Mad Laughter of Despair (1/2)
Tu Xiuyu looked at the crystal-clear tears falling on her bruised hand then back up at Si Rong. She asked hopefully in a hoarse voice, “Big Brother Rong, did you ever love me?”
She’d asked him this same question the last time they’d whipped Feng Tianlan. Back then, she’d been so sure that she would never become like Feng Tianlan, who loved someone so much she was willing to lose her dignity for him.
She’d been very proud in those days, feeling like a treasure loved and adored by all!
It had taken barely six months for the tables to turn. What comes around really goes around.
“How can you compare yourself to Pei’er? You’re not even worthy of being the sand under her shoes.” Si Rong looked at Tu Xiuyu with nothing but hate. There was none of the love he used to have for her. It was like Si Rong had turned into a completely different person.
“But she’s been having a fling with other men. She’s an illegitimate child. She’s a sl*t!” Tu Xiuyu’s fair face turned green from yelling.
Murder flashed in Si Rong’s eyes as he reached over and grabbed Tu Xiuyu by the hair then smashed her head hard against the wall, making her head bleed. The malice in his voice was terrifying as he replied, “Those are all just rumors made up by you, you little sl*t. Pei’er’s dot of Chastity Sand is still there. On the contrary, I don’t remember there being any on your arm having when you slept with me.”
Tu Xiuyu was giddy from being banged against the wall. Si Rong’s words were like an icy knife stabbing her repeatedly in the heart. It hurt so much, and she wished she could numb the pain, but her aching heart continued throbbing painfully.
“Even if Pei’er is no longer pure, even if she’s a bastard child, I still love her. You are only worthy of the men here.” Si Rong released his grip on her hair. He dusted off his clothes as if she had dirtied them, then spat on her before turning to leave.
Tu Xiuyu remained on the floor in a daze as she watched Si Rong walk away, and her tears fell uncontrollably. Her whole body ached, but her heart ached even more.
Feng Tianlan didn’t feel much while watching all this happen. She’d always been able to tell what sort of person Si Rong was from the way he’d treated her body’s previous owner. But because Tu Xiuyu truly loved him, she had been blinded to his true self.
