Chapter 245 - The Man in the Bloody Mist (1/2)

Si Mobai was playing with Feng Tianlan’s hand as if he were handling a precious treasure, and she couldn’t stop her face from turning red. “The Demon Palace teaches demonic practices. It’s occult.” That made things way more complicated, didn’t it?

This man was not serious, and he was such a lech. He didn’t match what the legends said about him, and he was hardly misogynistic!

“That’s true.” The only thing in Si Mobai’s mind was how fair and soft her hand was, and he couldn’t help but use his fingers to trace the lines on her palm.

Lan’er couldn’t be too conspicuous now. If she went to the Demon Palace, a lot of people would say nasty things about her. He didn’t care what they said, but he cared about her and couldn’t bear to let her be gossiped about or insulted.

Feng Tianlan’s palm was now very itchy, and the sensation seemed to move from her palm into her heart, causing her to shudder. “Wargod…”

Suddenly, she was pulled forward and landed in his embrace again. This time she was sitting right on top of him. Her face was so close to his, and they could feel each other’s breath. Those amorous almond eyes were about to suck her soul out and trap her deep inside.

The red dot in between Si Mobai’s eyebrows landed in her line of sight. Suddenly, it was as though it had become bigger, and her entire vision turned into a bloody red mist. Behind the mist, she could make out a figure kneeling on the floor. He seemed to be carrying someone. His body was trembling as his voice gently called out, “My dearest wife!”

That voice echoed, again and again, resounding from beyond the bloody mist, right into her ears.

That voice did not sound painful; neither did it seem very emotional, but she could hear despair and abandon in it. She found herself wanting to shout to him in answer: My dearest husband!

Who was calling her from behind the bloody mist?

Feng Tianlan wanted to tear through it and turn that man around so that she could see clearly who he was and what he meant to her. She wanted to know why his calling out made her heart ache so badly that it was painful even to breathe. It made her feel suffocated.
