They just stared at each other, in silence.

After a few moments, Cherry gave up, because she knew that she couldn't convince Jackson to change his mind. She had a clear understanding of Jackson's character.

She looked away, and asked him, ”Now, please tell me what do you want? How can you let Stephen off?”

Jackson looked at Cherry, and wondered why would she fight against him just for the sake of another man.

After thinking for some time, Jackson finally opened his mouth and answered, ”I'll think about it after you come back to the apartment.”

Cherry was taken aback when she heard Jackson mention about the apartment. She stared at Jackson and knew that he wasn't joking; he was dead serious about it.

She asked herself, 'Can I actually return to that apartment after all these years? Will Joe want to come with me?' She wondered what would happen if she moved back there, and if she actually wanted to take such a big risk. She would agree with whatever Jackson asked, but only on the condition that she would move back in alone. Joe was her son, and Jackson at the moment had no idea of Joe's existence. But what if Jackson already knew about Joe? How could she allow Joe to live with him?

Seeing Cherry's hesitation, Jackson asked, ”Come on! Have you refused my offer already?”

Cherry looked at Jackson seriously, and answered, ”Yes, I refuse you. I won't come back to live with you.”
