9 Chapter 9:Cerulean City (1/2)

(Note:Trying to cut back on using the word 'you' in this chapter since a lot of people dislike it. How I do?)

Walking through route 4, finding the hidden TM04 (Whirlwind), great ball and catching an Ekans for the pokédex, Anthony headed towards Cerulean City. Before going to the gym Anthony went into the building to the north since you could get a one-of-a-kind Jynx or Bulbasaur(Jynx in Pokémon red and blue while Bulbasaur in yellow). Since Jynx could be caught in the later generations, it would more useful to get Bulbasaur since you could get it anywhere else and seeing as Misty's has water-type Pokémon.

After retrieving Bulbasaur, there was still the matter of locating the rare candy that's in the backyard area of the northwest house and heading back into route 4 to level up Bulbasaur since it's only level 10 with no mentionable grass moves yet.

...

Using the already over level 20 Pokémon to boost Bulbasaur to level 25; allowing Bulbasaur to evolve it to Ivysaur and learn vine whip and poison powder. Although heading back to Cerulean City to battle Misty was next on the list, seeing as it was almost night time; setting up camp and battle Misty tomorrow would be a better idea.

...

After getting a full nights rest, I head back to Cerulean City in the morning. Walking into the gym, I realized that leveling my Bulbasaur was kinda pointless since the battle field was a pool with only 3 flouting platforms.

Anthony:”I forgot about terrain. Well I guess I should probably use Wartortle and bite since both Pokémon are going to be water-type”

Looking around, I was happy that I didn't see any trainers I had to fight before the gym leader again but it was kinda disappointing that Misty 3 sisters weren't here.

Walking to the trainers end of the battle field.

Misty:”Hi, you're a new face! Trainers who want to turn pro have to have a policy about POKéMON! What is your approach when you catch POKéMON? My policy is an all-out offensive with water-type POKéMON!” Saying that she scents out her Staryu.

Anthony(murmuring):”Whats the point of asking a question when your not going to let the trainer say anything, honestly, I wonder what the game developers were thinking when they made the opening lines for the gym leaders”

Seeing her send out her Pokémon I also did the same by sending out Wartortle.

Starting the battle, Anthony:”Wartortle use bite!”

Misty:”Dodge by going into the water Staryu!”

Anthony:”Bad mistake, my Wartortle is faster, especially underwater. Wartortle try using bite again!”

Although Staryu did try to run away, it was no match for Wartortle speed and was easily bitten; resulting in it Hp going into the red zone.

Anthony:”Wartortle grab onto Staryu and use bite once more”

Misty:”Staryu try to break free!”

With superior strength and arms, Wartortle Grab onto Staryu not letting it go. Bittening down again, making Staryu faint.

Returning Staryu, Misty:”Your Wartortle strong-”

Anthony(Mind):”Yeah, Because it's level 18 while my Wartortle is 10 levels higher than yours”

Misty:”-But let's see how your Wartortle deals with this, Starmie come on out!”

Looking at Starmies level, it's was 21. Although the level gap is shorter, there's still a level and stats advantage by a decent amount.
