Chapter 19 - The feud of the previous life shall be paid in this lifetime! (1/2)

“Oh? Isn’t this Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan? It's been quite a while but you still look the same?”

Li Jiayu's gaze flickered with a faint ripple. An intolerable agitation was spreading gradually through his heart.

‘Fan Haiqiang?’

‘This shameless old dog!’

‘The heavens really treat you well. To think that you'd be sent to my doorstep... If I don’t take good care of you, how would I live up to the grace you've showered me with in the previous life?!'

“You students came at the right time! Obstruct the insect for me! I'll go get some reinforcements!”

Fan Haiqiang said after taking notice of Li Jiayu and crew standing coincidentally by the corridor. At first, before his mind had settled, he was taken aback by Li Jiayu's bizarre appearance. Flaunting his authority as the vice-princ.i.p.al, he had solemnly issued the order to Li Jiayu.

He was, in fact, well aware that, during these crucial times, no matter foolish the students were, they would definitely not remain behind to help obstruct the battle.

No matter what, Fan Haiqiang still wished to give it a shot. After all, there was no shortage of idiots in the university.  All he needed to do was bewitch them and there was a 20% probability they would be willing victims, shedding their young blood!

‘A 20 percent probability… En, that’s pretty good…’

‘If the youngsters before me are all hot-blooded juveniles, then... Granting their wishes to “risk their lives to protect their beloved, great vice-princ.i.p.al” should count as an honour. In this era, students who would abandon themselves for another were worthy of praise!’

Li Jiayu's face was plastered with righteous expression as he declared,

“Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan, there’s no need to be afraid. Aren't they just mere worms? With me around, there's nothing to terrified of. They won’t be able to harm you!”

“Jiayu… This…”

Sun Weiwei muttered softly, puzzled at Li Jiayu's bizarre change... Based on her knowledge, Li Jiayu was definitely not an amiable person. Furthermore, Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan Haiqiang had just committed such a grotesque and selfish act... This kind of lowlife, was he really worth saving?

‘Perhaps... Li Jiayu really was a foolishly kind-natured person?’

“Okay! I shall leave this to you lot. I’m heading off first, be careful!”

Fan Haiqiang nodded in a somewhat dignified manner before breaking out into a sprint. In fact, the moment he started running, Fan Haiqiang muttered inwardly,

‘From when did Xijiang University have a student with white hair. Also, he looks so bewitching, I almost mistook him for a woman... There’s that huge octopus as well... What in the world is going on? Aish, I'm can't be bothered with them. Escaping takes priority.’

“Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan, why are you in such a hurry? Won't you stay and admire how I'm going to gallantly slay these enemies? It would be rather boring without Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan as an audience…”

Li Jiayu broke out in a guffaw. With Frost Moon in his grasp, he stood in Fan Haiqiang's path and made this ”virtuous” vice-princ.i.p.al freeze in his tracks. The vice-princ.i.p.al’s chubby face trembled as he glared at Li Jiayu.

”Don't obstruct my way! I have to be present on the 13th floor to command the students on how to resist the worms! Without me, they’re akin to a pile of scattered sand without any clue on how to deal with the situation!

“Just stay behind and obediently restrain the insect. Once the ordeal is over, I'll fight for a place for your “Model Student” award!”

“Model student? What an incredible award, should I squeeze out a couple of tears in gratefulness?”

There was an attractive and charming smile plastered on Li Jiayu's face. With a smile hung on that fair and delicate face of his, he had a very cheerful vibe. However, underneath the smile, a storm was brewing - a billowing wind howled and wailed while torrential rainstorm lashed down mercilessly!

At this moment, the Crimson Crowned Beetle was done gnawing at the department chairman’s brains and inadvertently s.h.i.+fted its attention toward Fan Haiqiang who had meat all over his body.

Emitting a screech, it pounced over aggressively!

“f.u.c.k! Get lost! This vice-princ.i.p.al has no time to squander with you lot!”

Fan Haiqiang’s expression changed abruptly. There wasn’t any more time to flaunt his authority.

Instantly, he reached out to push Frost Moon aside but as soon as his fingers came into contact with the cold blade, a wave of numbness surged over his palm!

First came an agony from the chill that seeped into the depths of his bones and afterwards, all sensation was lost. He then realised that his entire palm had been frozen over!

“I already told you not to panic. Why did you not listen?”

Li Jiayu scoffed as his leg lashed out like a whip, sending Fan Haiqiang cras.h.i.+ng into the stairway railing two meters away!

Thump!

The huge impact resounded thunderously! Fan Haiqiang's spectacles had long since been flung off his face and the intense pain caused the whites of his eyes to appear while his organs churned like the seas and rivers.

Li Jiayu, who was under Frost Moon’s “two-fold strength” buff, had attained an exceptional boost to his overall strength. Coupled with the fact that he had accurately kicked Fan Haiqiang in the waist, he had inevitably inflicted great harm upon Fan Haiqiang. It was to the extent that his internal organs had a high possibility of being heavily wounded.

At the same time, the Crimson Crowned Beetle scuttled out the stairway like a freight train which charged and bashed about without regard!

Except for Li Jiayu, everyone present felt intimidated by the sheer momentum of its bloodied figure! In their sights was a body that was several sizes larger than a spanish bull with intertwining bold-colored intestines that decorated its lethal horn!

Subconsciously, the people present had an urge to turn around to flee from the monstrous abomination!

“Retreat! Find a safe spot to hide!”

Handing Hua Xiaolu over to Han Xiaoqi, Li Jiayu yelled before leaping into the battle and rus.h.i.+ng fearlessly toward the Crimson Crowned Beetle with a howl.

”Octopus! I'll go first, look for an opportunity to suppress it! Understood?”

”Understood... I... will... do it w-well... Its... brain must be... tasty...”

Face to face with an enormous monster that would render any person to prostrate in fear, Li Jiayu did not feel the slightest of fear, nor was there any need for fear!

This all stemmed from his previous life where he had countless battles with Crimson Crowned Beetles. Way before Li Jiayu had trodden on the path of an apprentice summoner, Li Jiayu used his body to combat over tens of Crimson Crowned Beetles to the extent that Crimson Crowned Beetles became a mere side-dish in his eyes.

Its attack patterns, mannerisms, weak and blind spots, strength and speed, Li Jiayu had them all firmly grasped within his palm! Similar to a video game, the first time an individual battles against a high-levelled enemy boss would inevitably be arduous.

However, after continuing to fight it several times, tens of times, hundreds of times, you would begin to realize that the boss, which seemed imposing in the past, was in actual fact, a live practice target!

When the Crimson Crowned Beetle lurched forward, it relied on its trusty horn to strike its enemies. One would only needs to observe its horn to predict the direction of the attack and avoid it!

In a mere half-second, both Li Jiayu and the Crimson Crowned Beetle had entered each other’s range! Due to its crudely heavy body, it was imminent that its speed fared significantly worse to a Scythe Beetle.

Hence, Li Jiayu grasped the opportune moment when it charged towards him to roll onto the ground. Not only did he manage to avoid the fatal blow, Li Jiayu also managed to get to its left flank!
