She didn't know why she had come to London. In the past, she used to envy Becky because 'daddy' often took Becky to London. Seeing how much Molly admired her, her mother who was aloof to her, said gently to her, ”Molly, mommy will take you to London one day.” But, her casual promise never had come true.
Molly smiled, but her eyes filled with tears and she felt terrible. The tears in her eyes shone like glass in the street lamps. Her eyes, with beads of tears, made her look more attractive. It was easy to tell from her eyes how sad she was.
Molly stopped walking suddenly. She looked around at the passing cars and realized that she didn't know where she was right now. She had lost her way.
There was a flash of panic in Molly's eyes. She stood on the busy road like a lost lamb. In the neon light, her face looked paler. She bit her lip softly, feeling even worse than before.
”Can I help you, Miss?”
A drunken man, who looked like he was in his forties, came up to her. Molly turned to look at the man. He had untidy hair and red cheeks. He had a bottle in his hand, and passed a wine-smelling hiccup at Molly.
Molly was so frightened that she backed away and ran from him in a panic.
”Wait! Miss! Wait!” The man faltered towards Molly, ”Miss, I'm just trying to help you. Miss!”
”No!”
Molly looked back at him and screamed as she ran. Her feet twisted together, and she lost balance.
Her eyes widened with fear. Just as Molly was about to fall, the man caught her. As she smelled the wine, Molly started crying in a panic before
