Part 10 (1/2)

Chapter 14.

Checking in...

Kayson looked at the security as Baseem pulled into KoKo's bike club. He didn't make a habit of coming down there, but not seeing his wife all week let him know she was up to something and he needed to find out what it was. Plus he had caught some word that in her absence a few n.i.g.g.as were setting up side gambling. He needed to make them feel his presence.

Baseem stepped out the truck and spoke to a few men who looked in Kayson's direction, then hurried to his door to let him out.

”Good evening, Boss. The Boss Lady is up stairs; you ready?” They moved to secure him.

Kayson looked the men over then said, ”I got this, do what she pays y'all for. These n.i.g.g.as know better,” he stepped out the vehicle.

”Yes, sir,” the head of security said as he moved back.

Kayson eyed the many cars and bikes as he moved toward the elevators. His all-black attire and stone cold face matched his heart. They got on the elevator and as they rode up to the top level, some activity on the gambling floor caught his eye.

”Stop this s.h.i.+t real quick,” he ordered.

He stepped off the elevator with Baseem right on his heels. He caught the attention of a few regulars who stared as he and Baseem pa.s.sed. Kayson gave them no energy he had an example to set. He headed to the corner where he saw the offence. Kayson gave the men a hard stare while they continued their transaction as if they weren't standing there. When dude with the most flex finally acknowledged that Kayson's presence he got huffy and stared him down.

”The f.u.c.k wrong with your eyes?” Kayson spat at the man with the hardest gaze.

”Excuse me?” the man returned, not knowing he was in the presence of a killer without a pause b.u.t.ton.

Kayson wasted no time showing him. He pulled out his gun and pulled one in the trigger, then he shot dude in the knee, sending him to the floor in agonizing pain.

”What the f.u.c.k?” another dude yelled out, causing Baseem to pull out and security followed suit.

”Back the f.u.c.k up,” Baseem growled.

Kayson moved toward the bleeding man and stood over him. ”What was it you wanted to be excused from?” he peered down on him with his gun firmly by his side.

Dude looked up with fear and panic in his eyes. Silence stole his words; he held his knee tight as the blood pushed its way through the s.p.a.ces between his fingers. Kayson took the beat from each man's heart, then raised his weapon and put two in his chest. The small crowd paused as they watched Kayson take the man's last thoughts and breath.

He scanned the faces of his punk a.s.s friends then taught his lesson. ”I learned two things in life, don't ever put your eyes on a man you ain't prepared to put your hands on. And never put your gun on a n.i.g.g.a you ain't ready to kill. You m.u.t.h.af.u.c.kas understand me?”

They nodded their understanding.

”Good put this n.i.g.g.a where he belong and put these n.i.g.g.as with him,” he instructed as he tucked his weapon. ”Baseem, I'll be right back,” he said as he stepped on the elevator.

”Nah, keep yo a.s.s right here, go secure some s.h.i.+t,” he instructed the bouncer. ”Some s.h.i.+t gonna change around this m.u.t.h.af.u.c.ka,” he hit the up b.u.t.ton, giving KoKo's security a hard stare as the doors closed.

KoKo watched the monitors as Kayson approached her office. She tried to pa.s.s out instructions to Chucky and Pete, but could barely keep her mind focused knowing Kayson was about to go crazy. She hit the b.u.t.ton and opened the door as he stepped up to it. Kayson walked through the door like he owned it.

”Y'all n.i.g.g.as is dismissed,” he spoke firm, looking right in KoKo's eyes.

Chucky and Pete jumped up and headed out the door.

”Why the f.u.c.k you got cameras if you're not going to watch what n.i.g.g.as are doing?” Kayson went straight to the point.

”Well good evening to you too?” KoKo said, raising her brow.

”Don't get cute with me,” he stood firm.

”Baby, I was watching everything. That n.i.g.g.a been coming here all week moving a weak a.s.s piece of product and I had people on him. I was waiting for his connect to come to a special invite so I could handle that n.i.g.g.a,” she paused. ”Does that answer your question?”

Kayson stood for a minute. ”First of all, watch your f.u.c.king mouth. Secondly, I don't like the way you moving. And third, when I ask you a question, I already know the answer. I checked that n.i.g.g.a two days ago; so unless you were going to dig his a.s.s up for info, you wasn't about to uncover s.h.i.+t.”

KoKo looked up into Kayson's eyes and got a little choked up for words.

”I never interfere in your business...please let me handle mine.”

”All this s.h.i.+t is my business. You're my wife and I love you to death, but you work for me; never cross the two.”

”What are you saying to me?”

”I always speak clear. You know how I roll. I share my throne with you, but you don't rule it,” he gave her an unwavering gaze.

”Anything else, Boss?” KoKo asked as her blood began to heat up.

”When it is, I'll let you know,” he spat back.

KoKo bit the side of her tongue to keep from saying the wrong thing.

”And where were you at all week?” he asked.

”I guess I was out trying to be an employee,” she stood up and shuffled some papers on her desk. ”Now, if you're done...I have a lot of work to do. I wouldn't want to make you miss your money,” she looked at him then headed to the wet bar to get a drink. She was ready to cuss Kayson out.

Kayson put a slight smile on his face. He watched as KoKo stood back on her s.e.xy bow legs. He could tell she was trying to keep calm as she sipped her drink.

”You mad at daddy?” he asked then pulled out his gun and laid it on the table.

”Don't talk to me right now,” KoKo said, keeping her back to him.

Kayson's phone rang as he approached KoKo.

”h.e.l.lo,” he answered, seeing that it was Baseem.

”You straight?”

”I'm about to be. I'll be down in a minute,” he responded then disconnected the call.

Kayson stepped up behind KoKo, allowing the heat from his anger to flow out his lips onto KoKo's neck.

”Please move,” she said, pus.h.i.+ng herself up against the marble counter.

”Or what?” he asked, pressing against her.

KoKo didn't respond; she just looked at him in the mirror above the sink with rage in her eyes. Kayson took the gla.s.s from her hand and placed it on the counter. KoKo folded her arms over her stomach and watched as his hands began to move along her body. Kayson slide his hand up her breast and placed it around her throat and squeezed lightly, tilting her head back against his chest. His intense gaze heated her on contact. He carefully unb.u.t.toned her jeans and slid his hand along the top of her panties.
