THE MOORE RIVER

9th Nove the rest of the party at the bivouac, at 950 aeneral course of south by east rass and thickly tirassy valleys, with many fine patches of rich lirass was replaced by scrub, and at 330 entered the wide scrubby valley of the Moore River, which we reached at 420 After so the river, in consequence of one of the horses falling down in the mud, from which we had some trouble to extricate him, we bivouacked about one mile below the spot where we firstthe Moore River we steered south by west, and after traversing a nearly level sandy plain, producing banksia and scrub, withreached the Norcott or Gingin Brook

The banks were low and swa, and having swaht on the left bank

11th Novenetic; ascended the western Wilbinga Hill at 90, and traversing a rough limestone country, with several reedy swaup at 250 pinup Swamp

12th Nove the road past Wonneroo, arrived in Perth at 230 p accompanied the party to the Victoria Plains, proceeded with Private W King by the Bindoon road to Perth, where he arrived on the 17th

The total distance travelled in this expedition was, in round numbers, 1,500 rees south, 350 aged in the expedition was ten weeks

Sailed from Fremantle in the Champion for Champion Bay, where we arrived on the 3rd, swam the ponies on shore, and encamped at the mouth of the Chapman River
