509 The Blokes That Lost Their Voices (1/2)
The darkness of night covered the entire region with the moon nowhere to be seen. Silence enveloped the world.
Right then, a shadow figure darted about in the darkness with such speed that it threatened to cut apart the intangible darkness momentarily.
Following that, the shadowy figure did not slow down but continued dashing onward into the distance.
'It should be around here!'
Ye Lingchen paused in his steps, drastically slowing down, and started moving forward carefully.
The area was deserted, without even a single tree in sight, let alone humans. It was difficult to imagine that such a deserted suburb existed outside the extremely developed city area. It was as though this corner was forgotten by the people.
Meanwhile, somewhere further upfront was an abandoned factory. The factory even had an employee dormitory building connected to it. Although the factory seemed decrepit, there was the occasional flash of light that could be seen.
In the darkness, Ye Lingchen's eyes seemed to give off a glow. He could faintly hear some chattering sounds coming from within the factory.
These people were cautious. They refrained from turning on the lights even in the middle of the night and worked in the dark.
Without much hesitation, Ye Lingchen quickly zoomed into the building. His body melded with the darkness without making anything seem out of place.
'Is it that hard to infiltrate stealthily?'
As a prodigy, Ye Lingchen did not find it difficult at all.
He headed straight towards the dormitory building after he got a quick glance at the internal structure of the factory.
According to the information he pried from the two captives, the factory was only used as a warehouse to keep vagrants, animal corpses, blood, infants, and other materials needed for their research. Meanwhile, the actual research was carried out in that building.
The first thing Dong Miaomiao came across was the warehouse. At that moment, there were quite a number of people still moving the items around. Ye Lingchen could even hear the crying of the infants.
Who could have imagined that a multinational company like Amaterasu genetics that focused its research in biology would run such a despicable place? It was just as expected for a company from the Sun Nation to commit such crimes against humanity.
Ye Lingchen was just about to enter the building, yet he turned back one more.
The cries from the infants were too much. If he met any accidents after going in, what would happen to these infants?
From his cursory glance earlier, he saw people collecting blood from the infants. How could these people be devoid of morality? Cruel and merciless. They were even worse than beasts.
If they were to detect his presence in the building, these people might just kill all the infants.
In the entire warehouse, there were about 15 people. None of them were ordinary people!
Although he was unsure if they were all mutants like Number Four and Number Six, they were all martial artists that knew some form of Kungfu. Each of their actions were different from those of an ordinary person.
Even so, there were only three that could be considered experts. The other twelve were only grunts that knew a trick or two, there to provide physical labor.
Ye Lingchen's gaze fell on the three people stationed as lookouts. They were the strongest amongst them, in charge of surveillance and supervising the work.
His gaze turned serious, then approached them at an alarming speed.
Ye Lingchen was like a venomous snake hidden in the shadows, looking for a chance to strike.
These three had obviously gone through specialized training. Their positioning was impeccable.
They did not stand together but instead spread out over three points in the form of a triangle. They were in each other's field of visions and could assist each other immediately, preventing them from being taken out in one go. Being able to keep tabs of each other's condition in an instant, it allowed them to react immediately if anything happened.
