Chapter 195: The knocking in the night filled with thunder (Part 2)

”Tian Xie……did you hear that sound?  It seems like……someone is knocking on the door.”  Su Fei Fei said nervously.  The night, the rain, the lightning, the thunder…….This house that never had any guests now had knocking coming from the door which made her heart beat faster.

”Ignore it.”  Ye Tian Xie casually replied.  When he had been living by himself, there would be occasional knocks on his door.  It would normally be people asking for directions, knocking on the wrong door, or trying to sell him things…..He just ignored it all.  The doorbell had also been removed by him.

”It's this late, so who could it be?”  Could it be…..”  Su Fei Fei unconsciously moved closer to Ye Tian Xie.  Without knowing when it happened, but she was already standing beside him.  The unsettled feeling in her heart filled her with a desire to tightly hug him.

”A rainy night is good for avoiding detection and obscuring the sounds one made, as well it also helps eliminate all remaining traces.  So, with all these factors, rainy nights are the best nights to kill people on.”  Ye Tian Xie's half opened his eyes as he spoke in a calm voice.  ”But you can be a.s.sured, this house is very st.u.r.dy.  If there really are people that want to rush in, as long as they cannot open the door, then they'll have no way of accomplis.h.i.+ng this.”

Ye Tian Xie's words made Su Fei Fei's heart beat faster and even her lips slowly began to turn white.  She gently let out a breath and her hands reached out to Ye Tian Xie, touching his arm.  She held his arm in her embrace and lowered her head.  Leaning against his arm, she felt a bit of her anxiety fade away, ”Ten years ago…..My mother died on a rainy night like this…….”

Ye Tian Xie's heart slightly trembled and he couldn't help reaching out his free hand, placing it on her shoulder, trying to comfort her from the shadow that hung over her heart.

The knocking on the door continued.  The sound was neither soft or strong, nor was it gentle or deep……After listening to it for a while, Ye Tian Xie's brows began to tightly knit together.  The knocking on the door was incredibly even, even to a degree that was unbelievable.  The sound of the knocking before and the sound now was exactly the same……It was like a precise mechanical device was used to knock on the door.

Ye Tian Xie suddenly felt that this knocking was not as simple as he thought it was.  He slowly began to raise his guard the more he heard it.

”Are you scared?”  Ye Tian Xie asked gently.

”Un……”  Su Fei Fei replied in a small voice.  She was once again unconsciously standing closer to Ye Tian Xie.

Ye Tian Xie stood up from the bed and put on his clothes before turning on the lights.  The dim bedroom instantly filled with light.  Ye Tian Xie said in a low voice, ”Fei Fei, I'll go take a look.”

Su Fei Fei opened the blanket covering herself and not caring about the spring scenery she revealed, she quickly grabbed his arm, ”Don't go……I, I'll go with you.  Being by myself, I will be even more scared.”

Su Fei Fei's chest in the pyjamas stood up high, and there were two pink b.u.mps that were showing.  Ye Tian Xie's throat grew dry.  He looked at Su Fei Fei's nervous eyes and then nodded.  After finding a large coat that he could drape over Su Fei Fei, he held her hand as he walked towards the living room.

The knocking continued with the rhythm of the knocking not changing at all.  Ye Tian Xie walked over without making any sounds, and Su Fei Fei tried to be as silent as possible, but the slippers she wore still made noise.  When they arrived in the center of the living room, the knocking suddenly stopped.

Su Fei Fei's hands around Ye Tian Xie's arm suddenly tightened.  It wasn't that she had no courage, but faced with this kind of situation, any girl would be filled with nervousness and fear.  Ye Tian Xie patted the back of her hand and then said in a small casual voice, ”You can be a.s.sured.  Even if there is a spider monster standing outside, I will turn it into a dead spider in less than ten seconds.”

Su Fei Fei couldn't help revealing a smile as her hand visibly relaxed.

Walking in front of the door, Ye Tian Xie did not open the door, but rather looked outside through the peephole……Although it was pouring outside, the community was still brightly lit up.  With the light, he saw that in front of his door……there was actually no one there.

Ye Tian Xie's brows tightly knit together as he silently stood up straight.  Then he made a gesture at Su Fei Fei to be silent.  He closed his eyes and began to feel what was in front of the door……The falling rain and the loud thunder did not affect his perception, but after half a minute, he felt that there was no abnormal movement at all.
