Chapter 950 The Person Behind The Trap (1/2)

Seeing Zed and Julie flirting with each other openly in public hurt Jean. Feeling defeated, she said to James, ”Let's take the opposite road to walk to the car.”

James nodded his head. He understood she wanted avoid seeing or talking to Zed. For that, she would take another road even if it was longer.

They carried the gas can alternately and headed straight toward the car.

On the other side of the road, Julie and Zed were still tugging back and forth, but it looked like they were having some kind of quarrel.

”Julie, this is none of your business! Please don't interfere in our affairs in the future!” Zed yelled at Julie and gave her a warning.

He realized if Julie hadn't sent him the picture deliberately, he wouldn't have lost his mind and made the fuss that displeased Jean. The more he calmed down, the more he was convinced Julie was behind all this. She had manipulated him and created a trap for him.

”I am just trying to help you. Please don't get me wrong,” Julie said with a pitiful look on her face.

”So I got you wrong, huh? Okay, my bad. I did get someone wrong, but turns out it was my wife and not you. Anyway, I've got to go home. Feel free to go wherever you want...”

He walked to his car's side as he spoke, ready to drive home. But before he got settled in the seat, Julie sprinted to his car and stopped him. ”Zed, I...” she started speaking.

”Miss Julie, if you are really that bored, just go home and rest. It's getting very late. I cannot accompany you.” Zed gave her a cold look and shrugged her hand off the window edge. He got into the car, rolled the window up and drove away, leaving Julie alone by the roadside.

Saddened by Zed's indifference, Julie clenched her hands into fists and stamped her feet angrily, looking at his car receding in the distance.

She looked back to find Jean and James to be nowhere around. She found herself stranded alone. A gust of anger seemed to blow at her chest. She was irritated, feeling she had unexpectedly become the biggest loser of the day.

Jean and James walked to where the car was parked. James glanced at her from the corner of his eyes, trying to read her expression.

”Is everything all right?” James asked, summoning up some courage. His voice was full of worry and concern.
