Chapter 8 (2/2)
It was a woman with a decent appearance.
Xu Zhi originally thought that she was some kind of enemy or something. When Xu Zhi was ready to fight with her, that woman actually stopped him and asked for his contact information. She said that she wanted to be friends with him. He did not know whether to laugh or cry.
After Xu Zhi explained that he was married, she still pestered him.
Xu Zhi was so scared that he even tried to take a detour the next few days, to no avail. She even gave Xu Zhi a few love letters on the way. The words on them made Xu Zhi blush.
They were words like ‘You are the most fatal poison for women’, ‘The sky has lost its color when I see you’, ‘My heart is burning for you’, “I am your little sweet fudge’, and so on.
Xu Zhi really did not dare to read any further.
Later, he had no choice but to resume driving home.
Just like that, when he was driving some time ago, Xu Zhi still saw the woman at the intersection, where she was still searching for him. A few days later, she was nowhere to be seen.
He drove home. Although it was late, Xu Zhi still did not feel like sleeping.
After looking at the selfie Qin Zishu posted, Xu Zhi opened the online Jumping the Line of Fire forum to take a look. Other than the in-game beta announcement, there were only a few unexpected posts.
“What the hell is this Jumping the Line of Fire? There’s no one on the forum either. I’m a player of Real Battlefield 1, and I’m still waiting for Real Battlefield 2. Why is Dream Game Company coming up with this Jumping the Line of Fire game? They’re not going to launch Real Battlefield 2 anymore?”
“If it wasn’t for the free gifts from participating in the closed beta, I wouldn’t play it.”
“What kind of game is this? Jumping the Line of Fire? Jumping? Do they want us to jump into the fire pit? Jumping mice? Jumping tigers? Big kangaroos?”
“Let’s wait and see what happens tomorrow. I have three beta codes in my hands, but no one seems to want this thing. Let’s try this game tomorrow.”
“Just looking at the name, it doesn’t look fun. Not really looking forward to it.”
After reading for a while, Xu Zhi turned off his computer. Whether it was good or bad, all would be revealed tomorrow. One could not expect players to praise a game that they had never played before. Thinking too much at this time was just asking for trouble.
The next morning, Xu Zhi arrived at the company early, at around seven o’clock.
Jumping the Line of Fire had already been launched, and the game could be downloaded in the early hours of the previous night. The closed beta test officially began at ten o’clock this morning.
It was still early, and the company seemed to be deserted. Only a few employees who were responsible for maintaining the server stayed up all night, on duty.
Xu Zhi walked over.
“President Xu.”
Seeing Xu Zhi, a few employees stood up with dark circles under their eyes.
“How is it? How many downloads are there?”
Xu Zhi asked one of the employees. The computer in front of him was displaying the data in the background of the download server..
