113 Chapter 113: Hawk Eyes (1/2)

The Gao Ling City was different than other cities. It is known as one of the four vanguard cities serves as a primary defense before the heart of the Blue Wind Empire itself, the Blue Wind Imperial City. From above, bustling sounds of pedestrians walking around the city as today marks the day the Moon Empress Tomb selection was going to take place.

The city was quite large than New Moon City itself and houses the three largest sects in the Empire. Aside from the main clan, the city houses the branch clan of the Xiao Clan, Burning Heaven Clan and the Heavenly Sword Villa. The Frozen Cloud Asgard was known as the only sect that doesn't have any branch clan or outer territories. They only occupy the region of Extreme Snow where it Is currently known as the coldest place in the Empire.

The city was covered with ancient Chinese houses and buildings with different sizes and heights. The streets are arranged well and it was bustling with people from various places. Even in the distance, one can still see the towering structures in the distance where the structures are built near the great wall that covers the whole territories of the Imperial City. When one looking at the great wall, they can see it stretches as far as the eye can see presuming that it connects the Gao Ling City to the next vanguard city. One can imagine how many work force or cultivators required to build such a long distance wall connecting between the four cities. If the city is large enough to serve as a vanguard, then how big actually the Imperial City of the Blue Wind Empire?

The gate serves as a security checkpoint for outer area of the Gao Ling City if they wish to enter the Imperial City of the Empire. Despite not having any Tyrants of Monarchs, there are Sky Profound Realm captains and commanders protecting the airspace from any infiltration from the air. However, the city was fortified and had their security increased the moment those white mask beasts known as hollows attacked two years ago.

Against the beasts as well as humans themselves, these vanguard cities kept guard to avoid any unwanted incident happening around the territories of the Blue Wind Empire. However, visitors from outside converging on this city since morning to witness the clan that will have the honors of entering the tomb of the Legendary Moon Empress herself. Various elders and warriors escorted by their clan members as well as disciples entered the city with honored convoy into the heart of the Gao Ling City itself. Each and every one of them bears a haughty expression as if this moment of truth was made for them.

As the guests were settling themselves, they didn't notice that a lone figure was walking from the distance towards the main gateway of Gao Ling City. The figure's appearance was enough to arouse curiosity to the people despite many similar cultivators have entered the city.

Thud…Thud…Thud…

The lone figure of a man slowly walked along the road while other people and cultivators giving way to him. Judging from the appearance, this man is not to be underestimated like the rest of the guest despite coming here alone. People of this world doesn't recognize the appearance of such man as he wore strange clothing that anyone hasn't seen in the empire. Moreover, the one obvious enough to cause people to look twice was not actually his clothes but ...….

”What kind of sword is that man carrying?”

”I've seen massive hammers, axes, great swords and bizarre looking sword but this man is carrying that kind of sword? Who is this man?”

”How in the world he actually uses that thing?”

The surrounding guest and disciples saw a massive sword stretches behind the man's back. The sword is an ornately decorated with blue and green jewels as well as a big blue jewel at the end of the grip. The grip however was wrapped with some kind of white cloth all over it. On the hilt of this blade is a gold cross guard, though the bars between the blade and the hilt are much longer than average. Technically, the hilt was larger compared to standard hilt. Besides, how on earth that man is going to enter any tight spaces?

Another thing shocked the others was the long seven feet blade itself. It was pitch-black with a very strong sheen, along with a slight curve at the end of the blade. By the looks of it, it seems to be at least a full head taller than the man himself when it is placed on his back. Moreover, the sword does not possess a sheath, so the man simply keeps it strapped to his back.

As the people observed the blade, many of them whispered about the bizarre sword the man was carrying. Technically, a heavy sword is much bigger than Yoru but if properly wielded, Yoru can cut almost anything. Even a heavy sword.

”Hmph, that man seems showing off carrying a sword that's bigger than him. He is no different than those other sect elders came for this selection.” One of the disciples scoffed at him as if the man was here to show off.

As the man passed them, each of them was unaware that they were shaking not from excitement but with a slight fear. ”I don't know why but that man's appearance kind of intimidating.”

”You too? I thought I was the only one feeling the that…”

The whispering people observed the incoming man closely. What they could see that the man himself is a tall lean man with black hair, a short beard, mustache and sideburns that point upwards. His eyes were not seen as he wore some kind of strange wide-brimmed black kind of hat with a large white plume. The strange head wear covers his entire upper face with the headwear's shadow and only his nose and his facial hair were seen.

His clothing was even stranger than any clothing they've seen before. He wore a long, open black coat with no clothes underneath it showing his well-built body. Despite being a middle age man, this man has a body that cause female pedestrians, disciples and cultivators look twice as he was bare underneath that coat. However, the coat's sleeves were donned with a strange red, flower patterned along with the color. Not a common outfit among cultivators.

His hands were inside the pocket wear as he wore a light purple pants held up by a decorated belt. The pants however were tucked inside with a pair of boots with some kind of brown straps. What the guest and disciples could see that the man wore some kind of dagger as a necklace. It was almost similar to the sword behind his back but this one was covered with a black hilt with golden edges.

As the man approaches the gateway to the city, the city guards immediately think twice about stopping him as they knew the man was here for the selection. It means his strength is at peak of Sky Profound Realm and way stronger than any of their captains and commanders. But they still have to do their job.

”Halt, what business do you seek in Gao Ling City?” The city guards immediately stop him but doing so would require extreme cautious.

The man was looking down with the strange headwear's shadow covering upper part of his face. As he lifted up his face, the city guards immediately tensed up as they could see the man's stoic expression but more importantly his yellow eyes. The guards immediately felt goose bumps all over their body as they observed the man's expression especially his yellow eyes. It felt like it was a hawk staring deeper into their soul….

Unaware to the man that these eyes will the one people known him as ”Hawk Eyes”

The nearby guest observes the man's stoic expression before whispering to his companion.

”What kind of eyes are those?”

”It's like staring into a hawk's eyes.” He simply replied while keeping his eyes on him.

”Yeah, I feel like he is going to kill all of us with only that stare.”

As the people nearby started to tensed up, the city guards were also keep their guard up. But before they could react, the man suddenly spoke with a cold tone.

”Tomb's selection.”

A simple word phrase answer but it was enough to keep the guard's mouth shut from asking anymore question. The guard's reaction was solid fear as this man felt even more dangerous than any other guests in the city. But, the man seems to follow the rule of survival as well as the main rule of Profound Sky Continent. The rule that say 'If I don't offend you, you won't offend me.”

”Right, please proceed into the city sir.” The man simply walked by passed the guards at the gate but one of them decided to ask his name.

”Wait, can I have your name sir? So I can inform the city lord on the list of guest entering our city.” The guards spoke arousing interest among the guest. For such an uncommon kind of people were here, wonder which clan this man is from?

The man turned around slowly and looked at the guards with the corner of his eyes before speaking an unfamiliar name.

”Mihawk….Dracule Mihawk” The man spoke without even looking back at them before went on his way.

Much to the guards' shock, the man just went through the gate carrying a weird shape sword. However, no man and woman actually knew the man's true identity. Even the name was weird enough to cause a sensation. The guards having trouble pronouncing the words even write it in their language.

”Ju…ra…cu..le Mi…hawk? What kind of name is that? Is that man somewhere from the empire? Why haven't we heard about him before?” The spectators whispered among one another trying to pronounce his name.

”Wait sir, which clan are you from?” Another guard asked him.

The man known as Dracule Mihawk stopped before answering ”No.. I am here all by myself. Anymore questions?”

”No…thank you for your cooperation.”

The man simply nodded before he walked through the street towards the heart of the city.

As he walks, the guards whisper to each other once more. ”There's no one in the Empire with that name before. Is he from an extinct clan? Or clan exist without the knowledge of the empire?”

As the guards figure out a way pronouncing his name, Dracule Mihawk walks through the crowd with glances all over him. It was normal for him to gain such reaction as other cultivators or elders before him had similar situation where they wore bizarre outfits and carrying weapons. But none of them actually using his kind of style. As he walked, people gave him a sharp look before opening up a way for him. Some of the people revered him as such but some just wanted to avoid that sword hilt of his.

”Of all the man you chose, you chose this man? He doesn't look like much.” A female voice suddenly sounded in his mind as he walked through the crowd of people. The female's voice was quite common and always spoke if the situation requires. She is none other than Jasmine.

The man known as Mihawk kept a straight face as he spoke internally. ”He doesn't look like much you say? This man is one of my idols back then. I wasn't kidding when I told you that he's The Strongest Swordsman in the World. The swordsman that stood above all swordsman.” The man was just a persona from by the original man who wanted to enter the selection as a thirty-year-old man. However, since his age was insufficient, he created an alternate persona to match the age as well as he can use it as a method to divert the world's attention from him. The man was none other than Yun Che himself.

”The World Strongest Swordsman? It is bold self-proclaimed title I should say.” Jasmine replied.

”Yeah, but he had the skills to back it up. Even fighters from my world think twice before engaging him. Right now, I am sure I will be able to fulfill his title in this world as well. The sword's feeling is the same as using Zangetsu. His sword techniques is almost similar to my Getsuga Tenshou just the sword waves merely emphasize on the sharpness.” Yun Che explained a brief history on Dracule Mihawk himself. Good thing his techniques are similar to him but he still needed some practice improving his sharpness.

Jasmine nodded in understanding but there's one thing that bothers her while seeing him in this form. ”But you're really different when you're using this persona. It is almost like you're a different person…how did you do it?”

”Oh that, I was getting there. Well…..”

------------------------------------------------------------

Two days ago (Wasteland of Death Entrance Town)

”System, renamed the sword to 'Yoru (Night)'” Yun Che spoke with confidence.

[Ding…. Host's sword is now renamed to Yoru.]

After completing the sword, Yun Che renamed the newly assembled according to the sword he designed. He made them as he wanted to personified himself as Dracule Mihawk, the Strongest Swordsman in the world of One Piece. He was the perfect candidate to cause some ruckus in this world rather than using his original self. Besides, Mihawk stoic expression was perfect in playing cool.

He made Mihawk's feature the same as he was in the world of One Piece but he did give the impression of bringing a Spanish Swordsman into the Chinese oriented world but he didn't mind as there's a lot of weird cultivators out there.

When the designs and clothing was done, he immediately assumed the persona of Dracule Mihawk immediately as the system saves it as a template to change his appearance. As the light illuminated the entire room, Yun Che's appearance was transforming into Mihawk while dressing as his own original outfit. He immediately looked at the mirror and look at Mihawk's feature closely.

”So this is how I look like as Dracule Mihawk? A bit older than my original Sasuke look but damn. Is he always made his moustache this way?” He said in his heart as he caresses his newly made cheek. In this form, the system has set his age to thirty years old and was able to fool any age measuring pearl.

In this form, he didn't possess any perks just like his Dragon Transformation. He didn't even possess any of Mihawk's original skill or experience. It just changes his appearance into a template persona just like a disguise. Since he didn't have any of Mihawk's original skills or sword arts, he had to recreate it on his own.

”So cool, this is your so called idol?” Kon sounded while observing his newly attained persona.

”Yeah, I made the designs just like this. Nothing more nothing less.” Yun Che replied using Mihawk's voice however he seems a lot calmer than his usual idiotic and happy go lucky self.
