The mussel was surrounded entirely by countless of fiery red steel needles; there were probably fewer thorns on the back of a hedgehog. 'When did the mussel start to grow these harmful thorns? Did it acquire another ability?' Before Lu Wu could ask any question, it saw Gu Xijiu approach the mussel in intense flashes of seven-colored rays, securing it in the light.

A few moments later, the thorns disappeared, revealing its broken shells that were full of holes. Luckily, its shells were thick enough to prevent the needles from puncturing through. Only its outer layer was scratched.

Lu Wu looked at the mussel that was still groaning in pain and was confused. ”Mussel, do you feel pain even on your shells?”

The mussel slowly opened its shells. A human figure, pricked with fiery red steel needles, emerged and cried loudly, ”Master!!!”

Lu Wu was utterly surprised to see the mussel, so surprised that all its tails opened up like a peacock. The sight made its flesh creep. ”Oh, my! Mussel!”

The little child in the shells was barely recognizable. Thorns were all over its body, even on the back of its hands; everywhere except for its face.

The mussel trembled in great fear. Its eyes were red with tears slowly streaming down its face. ”Master… Master, I thought I would never see you again.”

Gu Xijiu's fingers shook involuntarily at the terrifying sight. She somehow knew that the mussel would definitely suffer, but she never expected that the punishment would be so brutal.

These men decided to torture it before finding out the truth. Moreover, the mussel was indeed innocent. She commented nothing. Instead, she cast some spells on the mussel. Streaks of seven-colored rays flashed by, taking away all the fine needles.

They could finally see the mussel's body.
