Gu Xijiu did not know how to respond.

”Can't you take the bracelet off yourself?” Hesitantly, Gu Xijiu asked.

”Have you no knowledge about your previous possession?” Shen Nianmo questioned.

Gu Xijiu coughed. ”This… This was not always mine. I was acting under orders to find its true master.”

”Were you following me under orders? Whose orders?”

”I have nothing to tell.”

She could not simply tell him about the heavenly laws; otherwise, the act would be considered as a breach.

Shen Nianmo looked at her with apathy. ”How did you know I was its true master?”

Gu Xijiu frowned, struggling to find an explanation. Did her intuition count as a legit answer? She only found him based on her intuition. However, the explanation sounded rather abstract. He would not easily believe it. ”The method is of no importance. The important thing is that you are truly its master. Regarding the box… Only its true master can open the box. Even I could not open the box myself, so I certainly did not know what was in there.”
