1795 The Wedding 4 (1/2)

Gu Xijiu could not care less about what others thought. She raised her arms and tied them to his neck. ”Yes!” She answered, while slowly leaning in against his chest.

Di Fuyi walked slowly with her in his arms. Many people were astonished. When he was finally leaving the main gate, the couple immediately became the center of attention. The huge crowd was surprised to see Gu Xijiu in The Lord's arms.

The pair left a very strong visual impact to the crowd; it was unheard of for them to witness a petite, delicate bride lying in the arms of The Lord, who was exceptionally strong and handsome.

All the ladies envied her. With his bride in his arms, Di Fuyi carefully marched towards their carriage. The wedding would become the hottest topic of discussion for many years to come. Many people called themselves lucky to have witnessed the wedding. It was indeed a special one.

Lan Waihu nestled her head on Yan Chen's shoulder. There was a sense of longing in her eyes. Yan Chen pulled her closer at the waist and whispered, ”Waihu, maybe we will not be able to have a wedding as grand as this, but I will be sure to carry you all the way to our bridal carriage when the day comes.”

Lan Waihu was delighted by the response. ”Yes!” She agreed happily.

The escort took two rounds around the capital city in the air. The gesture implied the meaning of making the best of both worlds, as they believed that all good things should come in pairs. Thus, everyone in the capital had the chance to witness the grand event.

Everywhere the carriage had been to, there would be petals floating in the air as if it were raining petals. In the carriage, Di Fuyi did not let her go. He still carried her in his arms. Even with a red veil covering her face, they had never felt so close to one another.

”Xijiu, are you happy?”

”I am!”

Di Fuyi returned a bright smile and kissed her on the forehead through the veil. ”I am too.” He had been waiting for this moment since nine years ago. He was prepared, but she ran away right before the wedding day.

She now sat in his lap with their fingers intertwined. Both of their rings added to each other's splendor with a gleam. There they sat, lovely like an affectionate couple.

Gu Xijiu suddenly thought of what she did in the past. ”Sorry,” she apologized for the last time she ran away from their wedding.

Di Fuyi shook his head in disapproval. ”It was all my fault. Xijiu, I am finally married to you. I am so, so happy.”
