1673 Little Fox Was His (1/2)
Gu Xijiu would rather have no dealings with Di Fuyi. He was the last person she wanted to see. She shook her head to dismiss all the negative thoughts that were creeping into her mind and becoming overwhelming. Then, she started to study the plum garden.
She floated in the sky to better observe the structure of the garden. Within the vast fiery redness, many trails were intertwining with one another as a result of the swarming crowds from before.
The plum garden was huge and vast. Seemingly, it was all in a muddle, like an ordinary plum garden without any specific array formation. She focused on the small passages in the garden that appeared to be like a spider web formation from the top view. Some of the trails were a result of the footprints from people who had walked through earlier. Others were there intentionally. Especially the ones on the periphery of the garden, they were mostly man-made.
A sudden realization hit her. The plum garden was unusually huge and wide. Most people that came for the flowers would only stay around the periphery of the garden and avoid getting too deep into the garden. The deepest parts of the garden should not be covered with so many trails that were left behind. Was it a trap that was set by the enemy?
She took another long look at the structure. Somehow, these trails resembled the shape of a spider web. At the center, there was a red plum tree that seemed to be strangely wicked. The appearance of the red plum tree was rather odd, as the branches extended to all directions that resembled the shape of a giant red spider web. Moreover, the color of the plum flower was even brighter than the flowers from other trees.
Indeed, the tree was hidden amongst all other trees, each with their own branches that resembled different shapes of different animals. As a result, the tree became less eye-catching.
Gu Xijiu was very quick to observe its oddness. It was not easy, even for an expert, to tell the difference. Perhaps the tree was the key. Before she proceeded, the directed audio spell started to flicker again. It was Yan Chen, who was requesting for her current location.
Gu Xijiu gave him her coordinates. Soon, Yan Chen and Lan Yue were both present. Gu Xijiu had not expected to see Lan Yue. She gave him a harsh look.
Lan Yue was a smart man. He immediately understood what Gu Xijiu was thinking and sighed. ”She is my fiancée. I will save her no matter what.”
The word 'fiancée' came as an annoyance to Yan Chen, but he was not in the mood to argue with Lan Yue at the moment.
He had decided never to let Little Fox go. After the rescue, he would not let her leave his side ever again, regardless of her virginity.
