1669 What’s Wrong? (1/2)

Occasionally, Gu Xijiu and Di Fuyi would exit the underground and go to the surface to take a few breaths. They attentively checked the traces which clearly showed that they were on the right path.

Executing the Aqua Drilling technique was very physically draining. Even though Gu Xijiu's spiritual power was already very advanced, her physical capability was still incomparable to Di Fuyi's.

Toward the end, it was Di Fuyi who did everything; blowing the magic shell and checking the ripples. Gu Xijiu was only following him around.

Perhaps she had been in the underground waterway for too long. Gu Xijiu started to feel a pain in her stomach. It started mildly at first, but it gradually became more severe. It could be her menstrual pain, but if it were, then it would be the severest of its kind.

It was as though a knife was slowly slashing through her internals. She was in such great pain that she broke out in cold sweats.

She was skilled in medicine, after all. Even though she had never experienced the pain, she knew exactly what was happening. She had not been having her period for the past six months, which was most probably due to her extreme emotional rollercoaster.

She almost thought that her period had disappeared for good, for her spiritual power was strong enough to get rid of it once and for all. However, her current pain in the stomach reminded her that it was the time of the month again.

This was not good timing to have a period. She had to slow down to regulate her breathing. She directed the flow of her spiritual power to her lower abdomen to slowly ease the pain.

On the other hand, Di Fuyi was taking the lead and moving fast. Gu Xijiu was eager to see Little Fox, so she quickly went along with him.

If this happened in the past, she would make him hold her. She would also request for his medical attention.

While they were together for the past eight years, she would easily make him hold or, at least, take her hand whenever she felt the slightest discomfort. Sometimes, he would even have to carry her on his back.

Those were all her delicate times. He was always there to be her most reliable support and protection.

Now that he was no longer her support, she had to support herself. Even though she was in pain, she had to grit her teeth and go through the hardship on her own.

The pain was so unbearable that her legs were starting to feel weak. She was starting to suffer from temporary blackouts but refused to say anything.
