1611 Was He Distracted? (2/2)

Rong Che had never revealed his demonic power throughout his years being in the palace. He had never had any negative rumor spread about him. Gu Xijiu suddenly suspected that there must be something in the pond. She ordered her servants to suck out all the water from the pond!

The entire Celestial Master's palace became busy. Luo Zhanyu brought along with him a servant to help out by the pond. Gu Xijiu wanted to help out as well but was told by Luo Zhanyu that she should go back inside as she had been injured and should not come into contact with water. She had better rest.

Luo Xinglan also personally made Gu Xijiu some medicine to help her restore the iron in her blood. She sent them to her study room.

With the company of her family members, her adorable pets, and her loyal servants, the atmosphere at the National Celestial Master's palace could not be merrier. However, under such a merry and busy atmosphere, Gu Xijiu felt a sense of loneliness, especially when the night fell.

It would be another sleepless night tonight. Her wrist had been in great pain. The medicine she used was able to heal her wound but was unable to eradicate the pain in her heart.

She thought that her wrist would, at most, hurt for more than four hours. However, even after more than four hours, the pain did not seem to diminish.

During the day, when she was occupied, she could still bear the pain by shifting her focus momentarily to other things. However, at night, when she was alone in her room, the pain became more excruciating.

She turned herself about on her bed, finding it hard to fall asleep. After turning for about two hours, she could no longer lay herself down. Thus, she went to look for the White Jade Carriage instead.

She looked into the cart, trying to examine the construction of the array. However, in less than half an hour, she heard the sound made by the jade bell on top of the cart in the wind, like a hypnotizing song, and she felt drowsy.

She simply laid herself down in the car and gradually dozed off. It could be due to the pain in her wrist that she did not manage to sleep well. Her brows furrowed into a knot; occasionally she would cry in pain, and drops of sweat would emerge out of the sides of her head.

Moments later, after she fell asleep, a piece of wood on the top of the car slowly drifted off, revealing a jade tablet. The jade tablet was glowing, and the glow gradually covered her body.

Within the glow was a person in purple who emerged by her side like a shadow.
