1548 Baby, It Is Time For You To Go Home (2/2)

He wrapped his arm tightly around her and pulled her closer into his embrace. There, she lied quietly, as meek as a kitten.

Di Fuyi stayed awake. He cuddled her in his arms, hoping that they could stay like this eternally.

Time waited for no man. Every minute went by silently. After a while, Di Fuyi could feel a strong discharge of his spiritual power. He knew that time was up. He could no longer put the trouble off.

He released her. Then, he got up from the bed and got dressed. He stood and stared at her with a painful look. He closed his eyes to find his strength. When he opened his eyes again, he looked very determined.

In his hand, a lute appeared. It was black at the end of the lute. Its appearance was not attractive, but it was surrounded by a layer of seven-colored rays, making it look somewhat mysterious.

He strung the first chord casually. The rest of the notes started to spring around, like a few wispy clouds with no direction and no definite location. What he played was not exactly music, as there were no tones.

Soon, the notes started to assemble. The notes that were springing around in the air started to join and form a thin ribbon. The ribbon went on to wrap around Gu Xijiu's body, covering her entirely.

A few moments later, a shadow that gleamed in seven colors escaped from the top of her head.

The shadow looked tranquil and was still asleep. Its body was shimmering in seven colors. It was her soul. She had successfully cultivated it into a physical form. It lied across his palm, sleeping soundly like a child.

After the extraction of her soul, the body degenerated very quickly, as though all of its vitality had just been drained.

Di Fuyi took a quick look at the body. He then waved his sleeves, and the body started to deteriorate into ashes. Finally, it disappeared completely.

”Baby, it is time for you to go home.” Di Fuyi planted a very gentle kiss on the forehead of her soul and kept her securely in his sleeves. Swiftly, he turned and disappeared.

Gu Xijiu felt as though she had been through a long, long dream.

She could hear the sound of a lute in her dreams like someone was playing the music for her.

In her dreams, there were stories of shining spears and armored horses. There were also romantic sentiments of her deep affection for him. She could feel the longing, the hatred, the happiness, and the melancholy. The dream was like a recollection of her life.
