1408 Are You Feeling Guilty? (1/2)

Gu Xijiu retrieved the directed audio spell from her storage space and tried contacting Di Fuyi again. Unfortunately, no one responded to her from the other end.

If he was in the forbidden lands, then who was it that had broken into the place? If the man had an evil intention and coincidentally saw everything in there, it might get Di Fuyi into trouble!

Therefore, Gu Xijiu decided to take a look without hesitation. She wanted to teleport into the basilica. She was an expert at calculating distances. Hence, she should be able to teleport right into the basilica. However, she realized that she was lost in a foggy place after teleporting in that direction.

It was freezing in there to the extent that she could not stop shivering. She quickly wrapped herself with her own arms.

Gosh! Where had she teleported to? She quickly checked her surrounding. However, it was too foggy for her to find her direction.

She attempted walking several steps forward, and suddenly, she stepped on a hollow space and fell. There was boiling lava at the bottom. It was so hot that she would probably melt as soon as she fell into it!

Fortunately, her spiritual power was good enough, and she immediately leaped and jumped into midair. However, she could not find a place to land as every single spot she stepped on started collapsing. Furthermore, there was either lava, ice blades or a pool of black swamp waiting at the bottom of the collapsing land. They all seemed very dangerous!

Gu Xijiu had already mastered the Flying Spell, which means she could levitate in midair whenever she wanted to. However, the gravitational force was too strong here, and she felt her body helplessly being pulled downwards. It was only when she tried her best to control her body using a spell from her fingertips that she stopped falling. However, it was immensely suffering to levitate in midair while casting the spell.

Perhaps, she had fallen into a wizardry barrier?! Otherwise, she would have only teleported around ten meters away instead of this far a distance.

Perhaps, the basilica was a forbidden place, and Di Fuyi had set a barrier at the entrance. Hence, she had triggered the mechanism when she tried breaking into the place.

Di Fuyi had taught her many different methods to overcome different mechanisms. Hence, she quickly tried every possible method that she could remember.

Not only did she have to prevent herself from falling, she also had to test different methods to overcome the mechanisms at the same time. Therefore, there was a possibility that she might not be able to survive. Suddenly, she was caught by a rope that came out of nowhere from beneath her legs, and she was pulled downwards by an immense force. The next thing she knew was that she was falling at rapid speed. She was afraid and screamed.

The red lava gushed towards her, and she was about to curse as she was unable to free herself from her ropes. Suddenly, a blue light flashed from her left, and it surrounded her. The light pulled her, and she was flown horizontally at a rapid speed!

The next thing she knew was that she had crashed into someone's arm. She caught the scent of a familiar fragrance. Subconsciously, Gu Xijiu hugged the person as he spun around.

A moment later, she realized that she had landed on the ground. Her surroundings were full of red flowers and trees. She was in the garden in the backyard.

She was then placed on a big rock, and Di Fuyi landed beside her. Though she had yet to regain her full consciousness, she said as she looked at Di Fuyi who was still carrying her, ”You…”

Her heart was racing, and so was his. He even looked pale when he lectured her. ”Why are you simply wandering around again?! Do you think that every place is safe for you to break into!”

Gu Xijiu remained silent.

She pursed her lips and gazed toward the ground. ”I'm sorry.”

Di Fuyi seemed to have realized that he had been too harsh earlier. He took a deep breath and asked her, ”Are you injured?”

Gu Xijiu answered as she shook her head, ”I'm fine.”

Di Fuyi's placed his fingers on her wrist as he wanted to check her pulse. However, Gu Xijiu took a step back. ”I'm feeling fine.”

She tried calming herself down as her heart was racing rapidly. She then took a look at the basilica. Though the door of the basilica was not tightly closed earlier, she realized that it had been shut tightly now. It seemed that Di Fuyi was inside the basilica earlier.

A wizardry barrier would be formed as soon as he entered the basilica, and no one could enter the place without his permission. If someone accidentally entered the area while the barrier was up, the person would fall into a foggy illusion.

In fact, one could be injured inside the fog, and she believed that nothing would be left of her if she had fallen into the boiling lava.

Again, she looked at Di Fuyi as she tried to figure something out. He was wearing a light green ritual robe with a bright embroidery on the fabric. The stars looked real as it moved around when he made his gestures from time to time.

She tried focusing her attention. ”Were you in the basilica the whole time? I've tried contacting you with the directed audio spell, but you didn't reply. I was worried, so I decided to look for you…”

Di Fuyi paused for a short while and sighed. ”I'm fine here. What's there to worry? You tend to panic a lot lately, don't you?”

Gu Xijiu was gazing towards the ground. He was right. Indeed, she seemed to panic more often and was constantly worried about him. She realized that she was not herself anymore.

Perhaps, she did not care about many other people besides him. Hence, she cherished him and did not want any tragedy to befall him since she had found her beloved.

Di Fuyi looked at her as he lowered his eyelids and realized that she had been very insecure lately even though she looked strong.

He could not help but sigh as he held her hand and walked around. ”Do you feel guilty about what happened?”

Gu Xijiu's body became slightly stiff. She raised her head and looked at him. Subconsciously, she wanted to deny what Di Fuyi had just said. However, she could not speak as she looked into his eyes. She helplessly sighed as she remained silent.

Di Fuyi added, ”As you know, destiny is relentless, and so it decided to play some tricks. Hence, you don't have to blame yourself as some of the things that happen in life are fated.”

Gu Xijiu raised her eyelids and looked at him. ”I thought you'd say that you had control over your destiny since you are a god…”
