1375 There Was No Turning Back (1/2)

After their separation, Le Xiaotong immediately moved out. She was now living in a medical center.

Zhou Tianci was a little excited to see his wife again, who he had been spending his last days with. He felt a mixed feeling of guilt and anticipation.

He thought that she would be anguished to find him in such a severe condition. After all, she was the woman who had loved and served him dearly every day. Back in the days, she would be greatly concerned to see him injured, even it was just a small wound on his hand.

He used to feel great hatred for her trifles, thinking that she was merely holding him back. But now, all he wished was to see the love in her eyes, again.

He was, however, disappointed.

Le Xiaotong did not even blink an eye, after seeing him in his bloody state. She called upon her assistant to take care of his wounds instead.

Her assistant was a young man, one of the two new members who just came in. He was pleased to serve Le Xiaotong as her assistant, as he was a little skilled in medicine.

The assistant was not a keen walker but was able to do things dexterously. Gu Xijiu had guided him before, so he was able to work with Le Xiaotong smoothly in sync.

When Zhou Tianci wanted to make Le Xiaotong give up on their marriage, he gave her a hard time by insinuating that she and her assistant had an affair behind his back. He made her cry many times over the same argument, so she decided to keep a distance from her assistant to avoid any misunderstanding.

However, her move was unable to resume their relationship, as all he wanted to do was to give her a difficult time. When she finally realized what he truly wanted, she gave up all hopes. It was a great pain for her from trying to get back his love, to let him go. It was a transition from love to disappointment.

Zhou Tianci hoped that Le Xiaotong was the one who took care of him, so he refused the help from her assistant. He insisted that only Le Xiaotong could manage his wounds, or he would rather bleed to his death.
