The man had kissed her three times in quick succession. For that, Gu Xijiu was feeling blessed. Nonetheless, she pushed him away out of the blue.

Di Fuyi was rather perplexed by her action as she was leaning in for another kiss when she suddenly pushed him away. ”What is the matter?”

Gu Xijiu did not answer his bewilderment. Instead, she retrieved a mirror.

One quick look at her reflection almost prompted her to toss it away.

She looked at Di Fuyi in disbelief. ”I look horribly repulsive, and yet you still managed to kiss me.”

Her wounds were beginning to form scars, but they had not entirely recovered. Her skin was covered entirely in patches of scabs and scars, and half of her hair was gone, making her look terribly unkempt. On top of that, there were three big scars on her face, which made her feel rather embarrassed.

He still kissed her, regardless.

Di Fuyi stroked her face gently. ”Don't feel bad. This look of yours is quite unique. Wait for me to retrieve your body. You will be able to have a good, long rest then. I am sure that all of your wounds will recover just fine.”

Gu Xijiu felt a sudden sense of hopelessness at the task he had. It would not be easy for him to retrieve her body.

The demon was way too powerful. They would not be able to defeat her if they worked together. To make matters worse, both of them were still trapped.

She looked at Di Fuyi and was reminded of a question that was left unanswered. ”This place is hard to get out of, so it must be difficult to get in as well. How did you manage to come here? By the way, if your soul is here, where is your body?”

Di Fuyi grasped her hand before he answered, ”This place is the same as the desert, which permits only entry. I did not face any difficulty coming in. As for my body, it is safe on the outside of the desert. Nothing is going to happen to it.”
