Zhu Duqing sighed softly. ”Are you thinking of rescuing Di Fuyi? Fine, I'll help you!”
After hearing that, Gu Xijiu seemed to have blacked out momentarily. When she regained consciousness, she found herself inside a tent at the crowded Zhengde Square. She tried to speak but found that her voice was as soft as the sound of insects. This was in stark contrast to the extremely noisy surrounding.
Zhu Duqing had sealed her acupoint and also disguised both of them. They now looked like an ordinary couple. Later, they headed out, and Gu Xijiu managed to see everything that happened on the two towers.
She saw that Yun Yanli and Kun Xueyi had completed their wedding rituals. She also saw the jade statue burning fiercely on the other side of the square.
”Xijiu, is that Kun Xueyi who was just married to Yun Yanli? I cannot believe that he does not even know it is not you. I thought he loved you so badly. Apparently, he is dumb!”
”Xijiu, do you know the nature of the fire? It is the Fire of Fen Fanye.” Zhu Duqing explained the power of the flame and concluded with a soft tone, ”I am the one who taught Yun Yanli this spell. I gave him the blood he needed, the five-colored stones, and even the necessary wood. Sigh, I have put in so much effort to make his dream come true. Disappointedly, he trapped me in a prison and wanted to kill me.”
”Zhu Duqing, why are you doing all this?” Hopelessly, Gu Xijiu asked as she gritted her teeth.
”For him.” Zhu Duqing pointed at the jade statue on the tower. He then sighed. ”Today is the day!”
”What has happened between the two of you?”
”You would not know the enmity between us. You do not have to know. You just need to know that only one of us can survive!”
”Are you a member of the Yun family?” That was the only clue Gu Xijiu had.
”The Yun family is nothing. I have nothing to do with them.” Zhu Duqing drew closer to Gu Xijiu. He was so close that his lips almost touched her ear. ”They are too low a class of people even to polish my shoes!”
Gu Xijiu finally understood that Zhu Duqing was the main culprit behind the chaos in the Shura World. He finally revealed himself. Unfortunately, it was in such an intricate situation! Gu Xijiu could only watch helplessly as the flames engulfed the jade statue. She had no way to escape.
Nonetheless, she did notice that Kun Xueyi had signaled his peers to take action. The beacon was lighted as a sign for the soldiers outside the city wall to send in the ferocious beasts. Besides that, she also heard Tian Xiuxiu use the puppets to urge the crowds to foil Yun Yanli's plan.
The place was undoubtedly in a state of chaos. Zhu Duqing sighed as he shook his head. ”They are all dumb*sses! It is impossible to put out the fire; it will burn everything into ashes! They are merely killing themselves. Tsk tsk. What a tragedy.”
Gu Xijiu was generally a calm person. However, she was lost now! Her eyes started to turn red! She had no idea what she could do, and it seemed that she could not save him! In fact, she had even gotten his loyal subordinates into trouble.
In a last attempt to save her friends, she struggled out of Zhu Duqing's embrace and shouted with all of her energy, ”No! Stop!”
”Please stop! Please!”
