”To live, of course,” the man did not hesitate as he answered.

”There is only one way you will survive. Pledge your loyalty to me and join my forces. A clever man should know what his best option is. If you are willing to work for me, I shall spare your life and give you the chance to do great things. In the Shura World, no one is more powerful than me. Once I unify the entire Shura World, I will appoint you as the ruler of the continent, if you work well. By that time, you can do whatever you please.”

The man shook his head in disapproval. ”Your offer does not sound quite right to me. If I were to become the new king of the Shura World, what would you do? After all the hassle that you have gone through, would you choose to walk away and travel the world like a free man?”

”Of course not! My goal is not to rule the Shura World. I want to be back in heaven and be the new emperor there. What do you think about my offer? I will only offer it once. Don't blame me for missing the chance. If you pass, I will torture you severely and hang your body at the city gate to warn others against committing a similar crime.”

The squid man's options were clear. One path would lead the man straight to his death. The other would possibly guide him down a luxurious, successful path. ”I will not deny it, but I also appreciate your talents.”

”Would you believe me even if I told you?”

”Try me,” Yun Yanli said briefly.
