1 Dark Comes after Ligh (1/2)
Orange colored sky with a sunset in the middle, an open ocean with endless water. There was a ship in the middle of it. A white ship with an emblem that showed the might of the royal family. In the middle of the ship, a teenage boy was standing still while enjoying the sunset with his hand crossed. He wore a green coat with a white shirt and black trousers. He is the son of a duke that will be getting married to the princess of a country. His name is Lawrence Sharrington. A boy with dark brown hair, average build, and a semi-muscular appearance.
”Hey there, boy, your big day is coming soon, isn't it?” The captain that was holding the wheel of the ship shouted to him.
Lawrence turned his head backward and saw the captain shouted to him. He walked to the captain. With the sea breeze that's made a beautiful voice like a singing angel, the conversation with the captain started.
”Yes, in fact, when we will arrive at the port?” He asked him in a manner. Not really surprising since he was raised as a nobility. Studying for ten years in nobility based school seems to be enough to make him learn the basics of manner.
”With this kind of wind?” The captain said as the ship was in full sail. ”Probably about two or three days,” He said with a sailor accent that was very natural coming from his mouth.
”Well, Captain, best regards, the dinner will start soon,” He said as he left the captain alone on the wheel of the sheep. He walked to the interior of the ship and walked to the dining hall. The dining hall where his family and several famous people of the kingdom gather.
There were several people in the table, the most noticeable one was his parents. His mother wore a blue satin dress, and her father wore a lime coat and a white shirt. The others were his friends and his father's landlord.
He sat between his mother and his father. The sailor turned on another lantern; thus, the interior of the ship was shining with an orange light from the fire on the lamp. His father stood up and hit the glass several times with a spoon; thus, several people looked at him.
”Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention?” His father asked him.
The whole guess mouth went shut, and his father started to talk, ”Thank you for coming to this dinner event to celebrate my son's marriage with the daughter of the king itself. It's been a joy to raise her into an honorable man like the way he is now.”
Lawrence was a bit older in terms of mental age than the average person that has the same age as him. He had known the cruel fact of living as a nobility. Everything turned into something political from playing with someone of his age until eating together with someone of his age.
As soon as his father let him eat the food, he ate the food as fast as he could. When the others were talking about him, he headed first to his cabin. Lawrence was pretty smart at hiding his emotion, some people might say that he is a flat face.
He took off his shoes, then laid down on the bed. He looked up to the lantern that was hanging on the ceiling of his cabin. His head was filled with many thoughts. He didn't love the princess. The fact that she is a princess doesn't change the fact that he didn't like her. He brings the pillow on top of his head, and tears started to fall from his eyes.
Why do I have to marry her? Why do I have to marry her?
