Chapter 10 (2/2)

‘Euphil is much more…’

After I saw Euphil’s skillful movement, Lenan looked like an amateur.

He said it was fine and requested me to get on his back, so I eventually got on his back.

“Wow!”

“Is it fun? Am I good?”

Allenan’s small and beak-like mouth was babbling. His face looked to be blushing a bit too.

Anyway, I brightly smiled and nodded my head.

“It’s the first time Mirthy received a piggyback!”

“Is it? Actually, It’s also my first time…to give someone a piggyback.”

Allenan looked quite embarrassed. I decided not to talk.

‘Still, there was someone else who hugged me first. My brother.’

I didn’t say that out loud since Allenan seemed quite pleased right now.

As I was on his back, I could soon see the fountain. I opened my mouth as we walked around the fountain.

“There weren’t any fountains before.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. There were only leaves here.”

That was true. The fountain covered in leaves was now clean enough to pump out clear water. And the angel statue was too tall for me to see. I could only see the angel statue now as I was on Allenan’s back.

The smiling face of the angel somewhat looked like my face, and it was pumping out water with its two arms. Even though its clothes were made of stone, the statue’s tunic looked realistic. It’s curly hair and smile really resembled me too.

“It is really alike, isn’t it?”

“Yeah. It must be because this is Mirty’s garden.”

But the angel looked like an adult rather than a child. Then, I thought.

Maybe… Did this statue resemble Mirthy’s mother?

Then, Allenan said.

“So are you a princess here?”

“Yeah!”

“Huh… I am a prince.”

“Prince? My brother is also a prince!”

“All the king’s sons are called a prince.”

“All right!”

I said out loud even though I knew this already.

Allenan scratched his head as he was embarrassed for teaching me something new. He was a boy, but his mannerisms resemble a dog. His big eyes and his attitude was just like a dog swinging his tail.

Also, whenever we made eye contact he’d turn and look away from me.

‘Does the neighboring country raise their princes like dogs?’

It was a really rude idea. I looked back at the angel statue again.

“Mom…..”

“Is this angel your mother?”

“I don’t know, I never seen my mother.”

“Why?”

“She gave birth to Mirthy and died.”

“Died?”

“Yeah. After death there’s nothing. Mirthy never had the chance to see mom.”

I’ve never seen my mom’s face after becoming Mirthy. There were no pictures of the queen, nor was there any portrait left for me.

There should’ve been a pendant with mother’s portrait given to me since I lost her at a young age, but there was nothing. I must have looked upset.

Desperate like a dog, he suddenly grasped my hand.

“I..! Should I become your family?”

“Family?”

I opened my eyes widely.

What on earth is he saying?

As my purple eyes looked at him, Allenan blushed again. Hmm… He coughed quietly and opened and closed his lips trying to find the right words.

Then he blushed a deeper red and spoke up.

“You said you never saw your mom. Algrecim said you hardly see your dad too.”

“Algrecim? That’s right. I don’t see dad too often.”

“Algrecim is our knight… So, because you don’t get to see your family often, I’ll be your family!”

“How?”

How could he become my family? By adopting me? Is this child thinking of taking me in as a step-daughter?

I was excited for a minute.

‘If I get adopted and leave, I wouldn’t get killed by Euphil once I turn 19!’

Wait, but if Euphil attacks Arkaden then I would die eventually!

I was excited for a moment, but soon pissed off.

Allenan seemed desperate.

“A Prince and Princess can get married… If we marry we can become family.”

“Marry?”

“Yeah. We can live together forever.”

I blinked my eyes. Then I brightly smiled. I could see Allenan was blushing as he smiled back at me.

“No.”

But I was strict.
