Chapter 381 Hear Me Ou (1/2)
A few days had passed since Feng Zhengyi and Kang Mu's conversation and the house had been quiet since. This was good, and Mo Ruyi knew this, however, she hadn't seen her son in what felt like decades but since she had mostly refused to leave the house unless Feng Zhengyi did, the woman did not let out a small bit of complaint.
This was for her son after all. For his safety, for his wife's safety and for their joint happiness. For this, Mo Ruyi was willing to let herself suffer for a bit. Even after Elder Kang had personally told her that Kang Jun would be leaving T City soon.
It pained her that her son hadn't told she or Kang Mu. But at the same time, she understood. They were living with Feng Zhengyi and if the plans of their leaving were revealed, Feng Zhengyi would surely bring it up in court and cause a ruckus... So Mo Ruyi kept her mouth shut, and continued to act as she always did.
One morning, however, Feng Zhengyi was nowhere to be found, which was strange because Mo Ruyi was the kind of woman who woke up at 5 am to do morning stretches and light exercise to keep her slim figure.
At around 10 o'clock, 3 hours past the time Feng Zhengyi usually woke up, Looking around, Mo Ruyi contemplated waking Kang Mu up but knowing that the man would probably not know, instead, Mo Ruyi asked one of the servants who usually tended to her before and after her morning routine.
Elegantly, Mo Ruyi made her way to the girl, not cloaking her presence at all, so the woman didn't receive a scare.
Once she was close, the servant turned around almost instinctively.
The female servant smiled at Mo Ruyi and greeted her properly, as all of them did.
”Where did my mother in law go?” Mo Ruyi asked calmly, without any worry or insinuation in her tone.
”She left early this morning...” the woman said calmly, and then, almost as if she was about to gossip, the woman went closer to Mo Ruyi and then she began to whisper, ”I don't think Madame Feng expected me to be awake. She snuck out of the house rather quietly.”
Hearing this, Mo Ruyi frowned but she did not participate in the gossip. She just listened well as the girl continued to speak.
”If you're curious, I can tell you the car she left it. It wasn't a taxi, someone she knows seemed to have picked her up...” the girl said quietly.
”That would be great. Do you remember the licence plate?” No Ruyi asked.
”Slightly.” The girl said as she put her hand in front of her lip, trying her best to concentrate.
Hearing this, Mo Ruyi nodded. ”Just tell me what you remember.”
Mo Ruyi was being obviously curious. It was not how she was usually and she herself knew that she was acting strange however she believed it was fine.
Most of the people working in the house didn't like Feng Zhengyi. Mo Ruyi knew this, but at the same time, because they were afraid of her, most of them didn't go against her either but a few servants, didn't care if they went against Feng Zhengyi since Kang Mu and Mo Ruyi would never allow anything truly bad to happen to them.
After hearing all that the woman had to say, Mo Ruyi contemplated whether to go see Kang Jun's place but rather than doing that, she thought she would wait and see when Feng Zhengyi would come back home.
She waited and waited but by the time it was the afternoon, Mo Ruyi frowned hard.
It was only when she heard footsteps approaching the place where she was seated that Mo Ruyi's restlessness began to disappear.
But image her shock when the figure who caused the footsteps appeared, and Mo Ruyi saw a young skinny woman with a slightly sullen expression.
It was Qiao Lan.
