Chapter 188 New Artist Who Used To Be An Assistant 2 (1/2)

It had been a small while since Lu AnLing had seen the three women standing before her. If she had been the same person she was all those months ago, she would have sank in her seat and waited until they left but the time for such a thing was long gone.

Sitting before the three, Lu AnLing did not hide her displeasure and the only one it didn't seem to bother was Xiao Mian.

Grandma Lu was visibly nervous to face Lu AnLing. Since the day of their fight the woman had suffered while thinking of a way to make amends with both Lu Xia and Lu AnLing but since both girls were ignoring her, it was hard for her to do much of anything.

On the other hand, Lu Shuya, due to the secret she still kept about Lu AnLing's past, felt completely and utterly uncomfortable when both she and Lu AnLing were around their family. It was like there was a weight on her shoulders that, if given the chance, would crush her without care.

As the two Lu women sat there awkwardly, Xiao Mian was smilling and in a world of her own.

The girl was in a state of bliss. When Lu AnLing was in France, the girl had enjoyed tones of new work, her engagement party and now all that was left was her wedding. She had no cares in the world.

Lu AnLing could see this on the girl's face.

Since Lu AnLing had asked what they were doing there, none of the women had answered but then as they began to make themselves comfortable, Xiao Mian said,

”You seem to be super busy lately and your Granny has been feeling lonely without you.”

'What does that have to do with you?... and so what, you've come here to ambush me?!' From the bottom of her heart, Lu AnLing wanted to be rude. Since her arrival in the Lu Family, she had let herself be weak, taken advantage of and to be hurt by others way too much for her liking. She let it happen because the Lu Family was giving her a home in a time where she would have been forced to go to an orphanage. Though, everything was different now... It was time to be herself, but she knew that, for now, she still needed to mind her manners, mostly in public.

Seeing that Lu AnLing wasn't answering, Xiao Mian smiled at Lu AnLing and then continued to speak, ”I explained to your granny that life as an assistant is long and hard, just like artists. People like you work in the shadows to help people like me shine.”

Lu AnLing nodded to this statement. She had almost forgotten that no one knew she had been fired from being Ning Jie's assistant. Even after being seen with Manager Hong, many artists still assumed that they were working for Ning Jie.

Xiao Mian: ”I've been seeing you around the building a lot lately, and so I decided to bring granny here to see you.”

”How did you know I was going to be here today?” Lu AnLing asked curiously.

Xiao Mian then pointed at the front desk. Seeing this, the face of the receptionist who had been watching them the whole time turned pale.

Glancing at the girl, Lu AnLing felt annoyed.

Seeing Lu AnLing's change, Xiao Mian waved her hand at Lu AnLing and said, ”I know you're always worried about granny, so I didn't come alone. I made sure to bring Shuya, but not only her,” Just as Xiao Mian spoke these words Lu Shuya's face turned dark. ”Yize came along also, so he could help Shuya and I take care of granny.”

Saying this, Xiao Milan's eyes were full of love but as soon as she heard this, Lu AnLing fought hard to keep a straight face.

Looking at Lu Shuya, Lu AnLing's eyes demanded answered but Lu Shuya's face just paled slightly.

Seeing how Lu AnLing was looking at Lu Shuya, Xiao Mian did the same.

Feeling the eyes on her, Lu Shuya smiled faintly and said, ”Yea... Yang Yize has been helpful...”

With that said, Xiao Mian began to girlishly brag about him, which gave both Lu Shuya and Lu AnLing headaches.
