Chapter 159 Forever Grateful (1/2)
Kang Liu Ran: ”Don't you want to succeed grandfather?”
To this question, Kang Jun gave a small laugh. This reaction sent chills down Kang Liu Ran's spine. This freaked him out completely. So much so, that he was frozen in place. He didn't move at all until the bud of his cigarette fell on his fingers. Feeling the slow burn, the boy winced and then threw his cigarette to the floor.
Hearing Kang Liu Ran's scream, Lu AnLing and Lu Xia made their way to his side. The girls looked at him with concern and they both asked him if he was okay before they checked his burn.
At first, Kang Jun looked at his brother without any concern but when his wife began to show her worry for the boy, tenderness grew inside Kang Jun's eyes.
This shocked Kang Liu Ran so much that he began to become pale.
Noticing the change in his complexion, Lu AnLing turned to Kang Jun and said,
”Should we bring him to the hospital?”
Kang Jun shook his head. ”This is the universe telling him he should quit smoking.”
Hearing this and spotting a smidge of jealousy in Kang Jun, Lu Xia couldn't help but burst out in laughter.
”You might be right,” She said as she wiped her tears of joy away.
”I'm happy you agree,” Kang Jun said as he gave Lu Xia a nod. After doing this, he grabbed onto Lu AnLing's hand and then he intertwined his fingers with hers. ”Now, If you'll excuse us, we have to go home. I hope you can keep our marriage a secret.”
Lu Xia promised she wouldn't tell a soul and Kang Liu Ran had no choice but to do the same.
After this, Kang Jun nodded in approval before he slipped his arm around Lu AnLing's waist and pulled her away from the two.
The action made Lu AnLing blush so much that she forgot about the rest of the world around her.
The girl just allowed Kang Jun to whisk her away without saying her goodbyes to Lu Xia.
Though Lu Xia didn't mind one bit.
As she watched the couple leave hand in hand, Lu Xia couldn't help but beat the air and exclaim, ”How cute!”
Seeing his fiancée's reaction, Kang Liu Ran laughed. He wasn't thrilled that Kang Jun had gotten married due to how it tipped the scale of powers in the mans favour but, in the end, he saw no real reason to be unhappy about his brothers union.
One thing that pissed Kang Liu Ran off the most about Kang Jun was the fact that the man took no pleasure in his achievements but now, with his wife, he seemed like he was the happiest man on earth.
So happy, that he didn't care about his, almost assured, position as the heir of the Kang's?
Kang Liu Ran couldn't shake off his shock.
But in the end, Kang Liu Ran had never understood his brother anyways. The only one who could possibly understand the man wholeheartedly was his wife.
In the car, Lu AnLing and Kang Jun continued to hold hands but then, Lu AnLing suddenly squeezed the mans hand hard. As if he had heard her say something, Kang Jun said,
”Mmm?”
Lu AnLing didn't say anything for a moment but then she turned to Kang Jun and said,
