Chapter 72 Precious Diamonds (1/2)
Hesitatingly, the little girl grabbed onto Lu AnLing's hands and allowed herself to be accompanied.
As she did this, Lu AnLing's mind drifted to Ning Jie. She was suppose to be looking for her but she couldn't leave a child to fend for themselves. It was wrong and for Lu AnLing it took precedent over finding Ning Jie… Though it was good that she hadn't been with Lin Li or else she would have been scolded.
Lu AnLing pushed the door so the little girl could enter.
As soon as the door was opened in front of her she ran in with a sprint. Watching the little girl's figure disappear, Lu AnLing felt her mouth tug.
It was like bringing her daughter to the bathroom. She would have experienced this, if only…
Lu AnLing's mind drifted.
Thinking of her child, Lu AnLing's mind brought her to the ballroom. Where she had seen a woman sitting next to Kang Jun. The tall woman was completely familiar to her. In fact, as soon as she'd seen her Lu AnLing had known who the woman was…
Rong Yue Wan.
This only meant that the nurse and Rong Yue Wan were one and the same. Thinking about this, Lu AnLing felt her heart begin to tug.
She had so many unanswered questions and right then there was someone who could give them to her but how would she get that information?
Sheng's text message came to mind.
What if Kang Jun knows something about her child…
Lu AnLing felt her head hurt.
Lu AnLing, for the first time since she entered, looked around the room. The inside was pretty interesting. It was a long hall that led to a wall. Once a person got to the wall they had the choice to go either left or right.
Since she didn't need to use the bathroom Lu AnLing waited by the wall. She leaned back against it to give her feet a break.
To calm herself down she listened to the sound of rushing water but then, something else came to her ear.
It was the sound of light sobs traveled to the girl's refined ear.
Lu AnLing walked quickly towards it and when she saw a girl in white dabbing a piece of cloth on her chest, with tears streaming down her face, Lu AnLing couldn't help but stare at her with widening eyes.
”Ning…” Lu AnLing analyzed Ning Jie's crying face before her eyes made their way down. Suddenly, they stopped at a large purple-red stain on her chest. ”What happened?!”
”Some stupid bitches happened!” Ning Jie's voice came out in a choke as the tears poured out of her eyes with no end.
Using her free hand she rubbed her face but the makeup remained unchanged. At event's like this, anything could happen and armed with that knowledge the makeup artists had used the best waterproof and smudge proof makeup they could find.
”Who?”Lu AnLing sighed.
”L-like it matters. I'm a smalltime artist and they're the precious diamonds of Halo Stars… even if I complained to Mo Yichen himself, he wouldn't do anything about it…”
Seeing the girl in such a weak state, Lu AnLing felt guilty. As her assistant wasn't it her job to protect the girl from the trouble that might befall her?
”And now I'm a mess! Just when I was finally feeling good; like today was going to be a good day this happens!” Ning Jie stopped dabbing her shirt and then turned to Lu AnLing. ”Even you look better than I do!”
Despite how insulting that sounded, Lu AnLing didn't take it to heart. Instead, she reached her hand out and wiped the remaining tears at the corner of the girl's eyes.
”Calm down. Don't worry.”
Ning Jie's eyes were filled with fury. She backed away from Lu AnLing who looked calm and elegant.
”Calm down?! I can't go back out there! Have you see my dress—” Ning Jie made a gesture as if telling Lu AnLing to examine her.
Seeing Ning Jie becoming more and more agitated, Lu AnLing sighed.
”Freaking out won't help you now. It'll just make it worse. Besides, you'll be able to go out there, with pride, in no time because …” Lu AnLing lifted her chin and smiled. ”You'll be wearing my dress.”
At first, Ning Jie was against the idea. She told Lu AnLing about how the dresses were specially chosen by Liang Ke and that her dress was supposed to be a pair with his.
Hearing this, Lu AnLing held back an eye roll.
