Chapter 12 Dangerous Situation (1/2)
The general manager gaped at the screen open mouthed as he felt his heart sink to the bottom of an abyss. Most of the other people had a variation of the same expression.
Everyone except Kang Jun.
”Stay here.” Kang Jun said to Mr. Long and then he walked out of the room.
He didn't even give Mr. Long time to respond but he did, despite Kang Jun not being able to hear it.
”Of course, President.”
Outside, Kang Jun walked towards the alleyway.
”You Bitch, I'll call the police!” He heard a male voice slur.
What followed was a woman's voice,
”Go ahead. Call them. I'll give you my phone. Explain to them how you abused a child.”
Abused a child?
Kang Jun felt his blood boil.
”Aren't you ashamed of yourself!” AnLing's voice came again. It was soft and sweet but at the same time, it was clear and powerful. No one would have been able to tell that AnLing was drunk.
But Kang Jun could hear that something wasn't quite right...
He had heard her voice clearly at the airport and at the hospital so he could easily tell that something was different because of her tonal shift and he was able to guess the rest.
Quickly he ran towards the alley. Once he laid eyes on the trio his eyes turned dark.
The first thing he saw was the man from the footage with his hand swooping down as AnLing's body fell forwards and the light in her eyes faded to blackness.
Mingyu watched AnLing through opened fingers.
Once he saw her begin to faint, Mingyu sprung to his feet like a lightning strike and pulled her back with all the strength he had left.
Mingyu did enough to make sure the man's slap did not land on her face; It missed by a few centimeters but that was enough, but not enough to protect her from harm.
Head first, AnLing crashed onto the wet floor hard.
A disturbing cracking and the slamming sound echoed within the alley.
Horror grew in the little boy's eyes.
”You brat!” The man screamed.
Mingyu looked up and past the man to see Kang Jun. Upon seeing him, he burst into tears.
”Daddy!” He sobbed.
The ugly man turned around to look at Kang Jun.
”Great, you're this brats father? You should teach your child a thing or two. Like how to respect his elders, not block a person's way and how to apologize! He is this young and he is already a scum of society! Young parent's these days don't know how to discipline or raise their own children, if you don't know how to do such a simple thing then, don't have children.” He ranted.
At that point in time, the man's vision was so blurry that he didn't realize who he was talking to.
That was his mistake.
But lucky for him, Kang Jun had better things to do than waste his breath on a drunkard. He walked over to Mingyu and patter his head and then proceeded to pick AnLing up.
He examined her forehead as it began to bleed. Specs of dirt covered the wound. Looking at her pale face and bleeding forehead, Kang Jun felt his heart squeeze. It was a foreign feeling to him, so he paused for a second before wiping the blood that descended her face with his suit sleeve.
Beside them, the man began to become red-faced.
”Don't ignore me!” He screamed. Kang Jun turned to look at him. He didn't even need to glare because his aura was dark enough to make a person speechless.
”Shut up.” Kang Jun said. His words froze the ugly man to the core.
Looking at Kang Jun, the man backed away in fear.
”Y-you you you... don't give me... ” He said as he continued to back away.
”You'll regret this.” Kang Jun said as his hand caressed AnLing's face. Beside him, Mingyu held AnLing's hand as a waterfall continued to fall from his eyes.
Seeing the scene and hearing those words made the ugly mans face twist into a fearful but also sorrowful grimace. There were many things the man could have chosen to do, but in the end, fear overpowered his sorrow.
He began to run but when he reached the end of the alley, his legs gave out sending him falling sideways.
His head hit hard on the asphalt and just laid there motionless.
He could have been dead but Kang Jun gave no reaction.
He just continued to hold AnLing's head on his shoulder. He carefully took his phone and called Mr. Long, who had been watching the scene transpire from the security room.
When his phone rang, despite him seeing Kang Jun calling, his heart leapped right out of his chest.
”Get the doctor and send him to my room. I want all of this cleaned up.” Kang Jun sighed icily.
Mr. Long: ”Yes sir.”
His head began to throb even worse than before, but when he looked at AnLing's serene face, a strange emotion washed over him.
”And get me the surveillance footage.”
Kang Jun didn't wait for Mr.Long to answer this time. He hung up and then looked towards Mingyu.
”Don't cry.” He said to him as he wiped the boy's tears with his free hand.”Can you walk?”
”Yes,” Mingyu said as he wiped the tears from his face.
”Good boy.”
With that said, Kang Jun picked up AnLing like a bride.
He held her warmly in his chest not worrying about the fact that she was filthy and the strong stench of booze that emanated from her body. Feeling the warmth and comfort of Kang Jun's body, AnLing nestled her face into his chest, breathing in his strangely sweet scent.
To be carried like a princess by a handsome man... It was a moment that dreams where made of. If only AnLing had been awake to actually experience it!
Kang Jun, accompanied by Mingyu, brought AnLing to his room.
He had wanted to just lay her on the bed but she was completely drenched in dirt and discolored water, so instead, he went to lay her in the bathtub before ordering Mr. Long to find him someone who could bathe her and then buy her a new pair of clothes.
While Mr. Long was gone, Mingyu and Kang Jun took care of disinfecting AnLing's wound. They were careful not to do anything that might cause her discomfort.
When the doctor came, he examined both Mingyu and AnLing.
Shockingly, AnLing was completely fine with the exception of a few scratches and a small fever. Although he recommended she go to the hospital when she wakes up because she could have a concussion.
Mingyu, on the other hand, had a fever and it was beginning to intensify so he needed an IV drip. Hearing all of this, Kang Jun frowned, but he allowed the doctor to take Mingyu.
At first, the boy was reluctant, his eyes glued to the girl who had saved him. Noticing his stare, Kang Jun sighed.
