72 Summon (1/2)
The girls didn't travel very far allowing them to hear the sounds of the ensuing battle and while they weren't able to see the fight they could feel the pressure of it from the sounds. They were carrying Klaus off trying to make haste back to the camp, they were traveling at a decent pace but the girls were very anxious as they felt that by the time they returned it would be too late. Eventually they got far enough to where they couldn't hear the fight anymore.
As they were running Umbra called out, ”Talia, this is going to take too long we have to travel in a different way!”
”I know, but the only one I could think of was using the 'Explosive Maneuver' technique that Sagar uses. The only problem would be that I would only be able to use it a few times before it starts to break my bones and tear my muscles, we won't be able to reach half of the distance we need to travel before that happens. You can't carry both me and Klaus at the same time while also moving at a reasonable speed.”, the thought had long entered Talia's mind but she found it would just make things worse than they already are.
”Sorry for not being clear enough but I meant that we to move in a different manner and I'll be able to provide it.”, after Umbra finished talk she slowed down coming to a stop.
Talia followed suite otherwise they could end up stretching Klaus' body unnecessarily. The two then laid Klaus down while Umbra explained what she was going to do, ”For this to work I'm going to need your help or more specifically I'm going to need some of your mana to be able to pull this off.”
Talia was confused, Umbra may have less mana than herself but it was still a lot for someone of her level. ”How much do you need exactly?”
”Well I've never been successful with this so far but I would feel that I would need about half at least. I just need you to supply me with your mana whenever I'm starting to come up empty.”, Umbra was trying to tell Talia this while she took out her longsword and began writing different kinds of symbols into the dirt, which started forming into a circle. From looking at the symbols drawn into the ground Talia could tell that they were runes but she didn't know much about runes so she couldn't tell what they were for.
”You still haven't explained what you're going to do and why you need so much energy?”, while Talia knew that Umbra was going to do something she couldn't tell what.
”It's actually something the principal has been having me work on for the past year or so. I've learned and finalized the runes needed I just require enough power to finish it.”, Umbra was trying towrite out the runes in haste but also making sure that they were correct as that would just mess up their efforts. ”What I”m doing is making out a set of runes that would summon me a familiar, normally it wouldn't take so much energy to be able to summon one or at least the amount I have would have been enough but that isn't the case. I'm really only able to use the unique magic I've learned and trying to summon a familiar based off of a unique element takes up more energy than I have. I was originally just going to wait until I became strong enough but I don't have time to wait now.”
Talia fully understood what her friend was going to do and didn't question what she said. Even the weirder part about the several unique magic she's capable of using as Talia was told about Umbra's trait long ago. They had been friends for a long time now and told each other all their secrets. All Talia could do was wait for Umbra to finish writing out the runes and then supply her with the energy needed.
It took Umbra ten minutes of intense concentration to be able to fully write out the runes for the summon. She then took the blade of her longsword and drew it across her palm drawing out her blood, throwing it onto the runes. Blood was needed to allow the familiar to have some sort of connection with the person who summons them, otherwise the familiar may not be summoned or worse not be under the control of the one who summoned them.
Now all she had to do was channel her mana into the runes along with infusing the element that she picked out as well. When she had previously done this she had used her shadow element so she was going to use it once again. As she was pouring her energy into the rune, the rune itself started lighting up gradually in a way that it seemed like somebody had poured light into the rune having it flow like water within it.
The shadow element was also present in the light appearing as dark specks found randomly throughout the rune. As the light reached the halfway point ofthe rune Umbra started running out of mana to use which at this point Talia placed her hands on Umbra's back and began feeding her own mana to her. Talia was quite good at this as the only thing required to be able to give your energy out to others was control which, she had in spades.
