45 Waking up on a Realistic Dream (1/2)

The place she was in was too dark. Yet, unexpectedly, Jiao Yu could still see everything that was happening around her.

She was standing on the ground with a foot deep water. Every action she makes, creates a circular motion in the water yet, nothing in there could be heard in the ear, it was as if that place was isolated and so silent that it was almost deafening.

The water trembled beneath her and Jiao Yu watched as the water slowly took the form of water, series of pictures and movements of people whom she could recognize played in the water.

There, she could see Sheng Xiao and Tie Yu fighting with some of the assassins and Mu Yu struggling to keep on attacking the enemy.

It was as if she was watching a play, yet Jiao Yu felt it that it was too real for it to be an illusion either.

The assassins were falling motionlessly on the ground one by one, while Sheng Xiao and his company stood with injuries they got from the battle.

Finally, the three of them mounted their horses, leaving the assassins to lie on the ground lifeless.

Jiao Yu felt relieved as she saw all of that, licking her lips that had gone dry and fisting her hand underneath her sleeves. She could not hide the delight and relief in her eyes seeing that the three of them were safe, especially Sheng Xiao.

Thanking the Gods that he was able to survive the ambush and leave with just minor injuries.

But before she could even say her thanks to the Gods, the figures in the water suddenly changed and instead of seeing what she had just seen earlier, Jiao yu watched herself rushing towards Sheng Xiao's aide.

The happenings were too fast that Jiao Yu was not able to keep up with it.

Seeing that an assassin has stood just beside Sheng Xiao with his sword raised up before she knew it, Jiao Yu screamed on top of her lungs.

”What are you doing!!? Stop! Someone!... Someone, please stop him!!! please!!”

Jiao Yu reached in the water fiercely, trying to get a hold of the sword that an assassin was raising above Sheng Xiao's head.

But no matter how and what she does, her hands seemed to be too short and small for it to reach them.

The water changed again and Jiao Yu watched herself hugging Sheng Xiao tightly in her chest, bawling her eyes out in agony as heavy rain fell on top of the countless bodies on the ground.

”No... no... no...no!! This.. this isn't real!!”

”Stop!!! Return him back to me!! Please!! I'm begging you.....”

Jiao Yu kept on shaking her head and catching her breath in between gasps. Her mouth was shaking like she was cold, while her body shivered and squirmed.

She was crying like a child, screaming the anguish in her heart while pounding on the floor that has been long dried. Her hand was red and bruised by the strength she put in, she kept on clawing and pounding yet, it did not seem to matter as everything went black again.

....

”Please...”

The young lady whispered in her dreams as her tears flowed down the edges of her eyes.

Two men stood inside the room, one of them was clad in a physician robe and the other in a light blue brocade robe.
