Chapter 171 (1/2)

Dark Blood Age Action 35680K 2022-07-22

“Are you sure that what you saw was a purple flame monster?” Chu Yunsheng asked the young man whose name was Zhang Huan. The man was also a Rank-1 dark warrior.

“Yes, Captain Chu, I was on the lookout at that time. I saw it through the binoculars. It was that thing that killed my brother. I’ll never forget it!” Zhang Huan gritted his teeth and said.

“How many did you see?” Chu Yunsheng asked again. If it was more than two, he would drop his plan immediately. Although sealing this type of monster was very tempting to him, he still didn’t want to risk his life.

“We only saw one, but I don’t know if there is more,” Zhang Huan thought for a second and said.

“Thank you for your information, you may rest now.” Chu Yunsheng nodded his head.

“Yao Xiang, go back to the office building to tell Ding Yan that I’m going to check that purple flame monster, if there is anything urgent, tell the people on the defence line to fire the flares towards the other side of the river.”

Based on the limited information, he suspected that there was probably only one purple flame monster on the other side of the river. This was a great opportunity for him. He probably wouldn’t have any more opportunities like this in the future. So he decided to take the risk. If there was any danger, he had enough ice elemental talismans to help him to run away.

The reason why he needed the monster so badly was mainly because of the two aliens. A purple flame monster was almost as powerful as him, so he could use it to fight those two aliens in the future.

Although Chu Yunsheng was working with the woman in the white dress at the moment, he still did not trust her.

Ding Yan had already alerted the ice and fire combat teams, and asked them to always watch out for the cloaked man.

“Okay brother Chu, be careful!” said Yao Xiang.

Chu Yunsheng nodded his head. Compared to the last time he crossed the river, he had lesser pressure and concerns this time!

If there was any danger, he believed that with his speed, he would still be able to get away.

After Yao Xiang left, Chu Yunsheng immediately started to make monster seal talismans. He planned to make two of them, not just one of them.

If he wanted to successfully find the purple flame monster, the little tiger’s “detection” ability would not be enough. Without a golden-sh.e.l.led insect, he would not be able to get into the swarm.

He borrowed a small boat from the military and quietly rowed the boat across the river. Since the monolith flew away, the surface of the river has become very quiet, the black fog has also disappeared. That water monster that looked like an upside-down shuttlec.o.c.k has also disappeared from the river and never showed up again.

Since the tombs were destroyed, the slimy substances, which were originally all over the ground, have also shrunk back from the riverside. Many insects’ bodies have also been slowly moved back to Jin Ling city one after another by the military. It only left with different sizes of craters on the frontline and some big tombs’ remains that the military could not take away.

Chu Yunsheng activated his armour immediately after he crossed the river. He carefully looked for the trails that Zhang Huan mentioned and lurked towards the swarm with the little tiger. If they noticed one or two green-sh.e.l.led insects flying over their heads, they would quickly hide into a carter and covered themselves with the burnt soil until the green-sh.e.l.led insects left.

This was a secret hunt; both he and the little tiger were experienced in it. Especially the little tiger, it was able to react to different levels of dangers, and that was how Chu Yunsheng was going to find the purple flame monster.

One man and one tiger hopped from one crater to another, slowly and steadily approaching the slimy substances. Soon, they saw a crowded swarm appear in their eyesight, and it seemed like the insects in the swarm were busy doing something.

He was hiding in one of the craters that were close to the slimy substances. As he slowly popped his head out, he began to secretly search for his target.

But the result was very disappointing. Not a single golden-sh.e.l.led insect, let alone the purple flame monster. Apart from the red-sh.e.l.led insects and the green-sh.e.l.led insects, all he saw were worms and countless b.l.o.o.d.y human-sized meatb.a.l.l.s.

Chu Yunsheng was constantly changing craters around the edge of the slimy substances; he was hoping that he could find a golden-sh.e.l.led insect from the other places.

It took him almost half an hour, but he still could not find anything. Eventually, he gave up.

‘Probably golden-sh.e.l.led insects like to live under the ground, and unless there are some special circ.u.mstances, otherwise, they wouldn’t come out of the ground.’ Chu Yunsheng thought.

Just as he was thinking to go back to the city, suddenly, a tomb’s tube emerged from the ground in the center of the crater he was hiding. It wriggled for a second and then stopped moving. However, there was nothing coming out of the tube.
