The killing never stopped in the entire evening.

The air seemed to be filled with the heavy smell of blood.

The chaos was suppressed by the military force in just one night. The city once again returned back to normal.

On the next day, Zhou Tingyun, who had not registered with DWH, was asked to stay in the office building, in case another wave of riots happened inside the city, so she would be able to protect the building until they came back. Ding Yan and Duan Danian’s weapons were not taken away, so they could still use them at the crucial moment.

30 dark warriors led by Chu Yunsheng headed towards the Western District’s front line on foot. They did not have much petrol left, so they were trying to save it as much as possible.

What surprised Chu Yunsheng was that when he just left the building, he b.u.mped into Lu Yaming, who did not seem to have slept last night. His eyes were filled with blood vessels, and he was helping soldiers to build a long counter. Behind the counter, there was a big wall. On the wall, there was a banner written in big yellow color: Emergency Conscription!

Only until Chu Yunsheng asked him, did he realize that it was the third order that issued by the GCH:

“Temporary emergency conscription!

Join the army, and join the fight at the front line!

You will get food; you will get weapons!”

Chu Yunsheng had walked past a few areas already. All of them were organizing the conscription.

The 9th division and the 5th division’s flags were fluttering above the recruitment point in the cold wind.

The loud megaphone was constantly broadcasting the marching music to give people courage.

There were even some soldiers singing along with the music:

And that was not all of it. When Chu Yunsheng took turned into a slightly bigger street, they b.u.mped into a group of young people. With the help of police officers clearing the way at the front, they were holding the banner and shouting:

“Defend Jin Ling city with our lives.”

“Fight the insects to death!”

“Never give up! Humans will win!”

“Don’t be a coward, be a hero!”

“…”

Every time when the man in gla.s.ses, who looked like a student leader shouted, the group of people behind him would follow. Their high pitch voice was loud and sonorous. It resounded through the Western District.

However, the starving refugees on the side of the street didn’t seem to have any reactions. Compared to those inspiring slogans, they were only interested in the food they provided.

The Western District’s defense line was near the river. But no one actually dared to approach the river. It was said that a company of soldiers was once dragged into the river by the monster in the river, and their bodies have never been found.
