35 Toward The New Moon 3 (2/2)

Not long after Max left the hotel and started to drive toward the crime scene. every radio station trying to provide the latest updates about the 'Headless Incident'.

According to news, police still haven't found anyone responsible for this hideous crime. local residents are getting impatient with local authorities. Max shook his head thinking, this incident will be nothing but an unsolved mystery in police reports.

Thinking about local residences accusations, Max suddenly thought about people responsible for this. will they still hang around Portland knowing police dogs are into them? won't they leave to avoid being found out?

'Shit...why didn't I think this before? I should have started soon as I arrive here' Max thought as he stamped on the gas peddle.

With his speed, Max reached the crime scene swiftly without hindrance. he stopped his car a few miles away so he wouldn't get noticed by the police patrol.

As he walked toward the crime scene hiding behind the tree shades, Max felt myriad of emotions concentrating ahead of him. most of them being resentment and anger, it was almost as if a war zone. even some noises reached his ears. feeling strange, Max held his advance and tried listening to the wind current.

Suddenly Max jolted, unexpectedly he heard screams travelling together with the winds. it was hard to distinguish what those voices saying. but Max clearly sensed fear, resentment mixed with hatred.

Wolves or Vampires inherently has the ability to sense the emotional change of a person. be that as it may, it isn't this strong. sure, as a Hybrid Max has all those innate abilities enhanced. but not this much. Max was sure he never sensed anything like this before. if his mental strength wasn't strong as it is, those emotions might affect him too.

'When did my senses go haywire?' Max questioned himself, trying not to listened screams. in a flash, a thought appeared in his mind, answering all the questions.

Lydia!!

'So that how it is! as I shared the portion of my power with her, she also shared some of her powers with me' an amused smile formed on his face handsome face. that makes perfect sense since he marked Lydia as his Luna, they both shared their lives together and their powers together.

This supernatural (Banshee type) hearing Max has is not as strong as Lydia's. however, some times, this could come in handy. moreover, if he could develop it somehow, he might be able to use sound wave attacks.

Concentrating bit, Max was able to shut down unnecessary interruptions. it was not like he could use this to know the location victims were killed. only a born Banshee as Lydia could do it.

When Max reached the crime scene, as expected, it was heavily guarded. the entrance of both sides of this abandoned factory was guarded by ten or so police officers. another two constantly checking on the crumbled building without stepping beyond yellow tapes. although officers couldn't see the inside they were on alert nonetheless.

Max patiently keep on watching the patrol guards. he saw there was some delay between two cops. taking that to his advantage Max used his Vampire speed to bypass the patrol. Vampires had explosive speed, however, it was short. not good enough to travel distance.

Inside Max saw few corrosive machines which he had no idea what they use for. and bit further away from there Max saw what he came for. bunch of headless bodies scattered around the place making it horror scene.
