”It's like this....” Ron began to recall previous events, under Max's cold gaze.
He lived alone, 29 years old without a proper job. he had a no big qualification per se, but he did finish school. after seeing a job vacancy he immediately called and reserved time and date for the interview. (AN: Not jobless ok)
Yesterday Ron went to the place job interview supposed to happen. with him, another three people participated. however, no one knew each other, total strangers.
”What's job interview has to do with you almost dying?” not wanting to hear about every little detail, Max interrupted.
Ron seemed much calmer now after drinking blood.
”Let me finish will you”
”Fine but skip the unimportant details, go straight to the point”
”Alright, about five minutes waiting no one came to meet us. although I said it was building, you could say it was a mansion. I talked with the other three and found out none of them even finished school properly. the only thing we had in common was we all are live alone or orphans.
Half an hour later Middle age man probably in his late thirties came to meet us. first, he apologized for the wait and invite the first one inside the office. he man in mid-twenties with a big build body. I talked to him and the guy seemed nice.
The interview lasted about ten or so minutes, a middle-aged man came back alone. then he said the big guy got selected and went to servants quarters. apparently, they selecting servants for the mansion. I was envious about the big guy since he got the job so fast. they offered a big salary and little work. who wouldn't want this kinda job? right”
Ron paused a bit, looking at Max. by now Ron understood Max wasn't what he thought.
”I wouldn't know” Max kept his cold facade which really hard to do ”Keep going I don't have all night”
”Yes, yes.....every one before me only took, five or ten minutes, no more than that. what more no one came back except that man. finally, my time came. the same middle-aged man took me what it looks like a freezer room with a metal door. but we didn't go to all the way inside. I saw there another three-person inside. women, a girl, and a boy.suddenly the middle-aged man spoke.
This is my family, he said.
Since you the last one today I will ask you a question.
Although I was confused I nodded.
What do you think about the supernatural? he asked looking at me.
I think don't believe any of them, I simply said without thinking.
Haha good, we like to eat people like you, the whole family laughed loudly. then the man said, then what do you think about this?
Suddenly his eyes turned to a white color without pupils. they showed me raw of sharp teeth.
I was scared and panicked, I asked them what going on and what are they. but the family didn't care about me they talked about who's going to kill me.
Knowing I'm going to die I tried to find a way to escape. but all in naught. while I was doing everything they decided to leave me to the boy. probably 13 or 14 years old, he looked so happy.
Other family members went out, but, maybe the lady luck looking after me they forget to lock the freezer. however real thing was to surviving from that boy's teeth and claws. my every wound was given by him. although the boy was strong, I was able to knock him down by a sudden push.
I came out but nobody noticed me. with all the deadly wounds I ran, and finally collapsed. when you found me, not even minutes passed after I collapsed.”
When Ron finished his story, Max had a surprise written all over his face. according to given information Max easily guessed Ron had a run-in with Wendigo family. however, Max quickly thought something,
Why no one chased after? Wendigos like to stay hidden, they will never be allowed something like this to happen. then why Ron got away?
Actually, Max was right Ron was chased after. however, it was junior Wendigo's simple carelessness, allowed Max to reach Ron's dying body. after seeing the whole scene Max healing Ron. by now the Wendigo family might already vanish into thin air. maybe not even the mansion could be found if they search.
