”Bri! Bri!”, he shouted a few times and checked the bedroom and the bathroom before remembering his phone.

To his horror, Bri didn't pick up.

Quentin cursed loudly and called again, and again.

His hands were shaky because he ran five blocks from the restaurant to the hotel and now he can't locate Brianna.

Because he was on foot, he should see her if they walked back, which means that they took a ride, and she should be here. Are they really over?

With every passing second, he was getting more anxious and angrier and depressed at the same time.

He cursed again as the world around him was collapsing.

If Kendra is here, he would fire her on the spot and he would do whatever is necessary to bring Brianna back into his embrace. What if she does not want to see him again? What if she never smiles at him again?

Only Quentin knows of all the effort it took to slowly reel in Brianna into his life and get her to lower her defenses so that they are dating, but even with that, she would sometimes look at him as if she is ready to flee. There was always a spark in her that was not willing to submit. What if this blew up that spark into a flame and made his fiery Goddess leave him? Quentin is aware that if Brianna suspects him of cheating, or that he is even thinking about cheating, she will leave him… no matter how much she loves him.

Quentin was about to open the window because the room was lacking oxygen, but he paused when he heard knocks on the door.

”Why are you here?”, Quentin asked Max and Hunter with disapproval in his voice while frantically checking the hallway only to see that the girls are not with them. ”Where is Brianna?”

Max was irritated by Quentin's behavior. ”Can we come in?”

Quentin didn't care if they get in or not. He moved from the door and repeated his question. ”Where is Bri?”

”Because of your little stunt, the girls decided that they need some girl-bonding.”, Hunter grumbled.

Quentin didn't get it. ”What does that mean?”

Hunter decided to elaborate: ”They went to party on their own, and they said that we can look them up later.”

Quentin's head was buzzing, and he was not sure if he understood Hunter. ”What?”

Max was frustrated. Did Quentin turn stupid after Kendra's phone call?

Max went to the bar and grabbed a bottle of whiskey and three glasses, and Quentin was confident that Max is filling the glasses with amber liquid in super slow motion only to torture him.

”Here, drink this. It might help unplug your ears.”, Max said while offering Quentin one glass of whiskey.

Quentin took the glass, but he didn't drink. ”I don't get it. What did I miss that I need to unplug my ears? Bri went to party with Liz and Mia, without you. Why? Where are they? And how is that my fault?”

Hunter downed his glass and grimaced when the alcohol bit his throat.

”Me too.”, Hunter said in support of Max's words and added: ”If I stayed home, I would be in bed cuddling with Mia, and not hugging this… empty glass…” Hunter eyed his glass and then gestured to Max to pour more whiskey in it.
