If there are secrets surrounding that ancient ruin, then even if I told you everything, it would be useless.” Mo Wen shook his head. ”If possible, I would like to keep my experiences in the ancient ruin a secret.”
He had gone through a lot in the ancient ruin, and it was related to the destroyed building's legacy. Who knew if Huatian Palace would come to have different ideas in the future? He was just mortal. If Huatian Palace attempted to do anything to him, he did not have the ability to fight back. As such, he would not actively tell Huatian Palace about this.
Mo Qingtian frowned. He muttered to himself for a long while before he said, ”It seems that you must have gained something in the ancient ruin. Since you do not trust Huatian Palace, I won't force you to say anything. However, your refusal to tell us about your experience is against the rules of Huatian Palace. I can find a way to ease the rules for you. But there is one thing you have to do.”
”What is it?” Mo Wen relaxed. As long as Huatian Palace did not try to make him tell them what happened, he could accept any other conditions.
”You met the team led by Executor Fu Qing on your way back. I trust that you know some things about the recent moves made by the Ghost Lair. It was fortunate that you were there then, or Huatian Palace would definitely have suffered heavy losses.”
”After an investigation, Huatian Palace found out that the Ghost Lair is planning something big that will affect many people. Actually, you have taken a task related to the Ghost Lair before. They had already begun to set up then.”
Mo Qingtian's expression was grave as he spoke. What the Ghost Lair wanted was definitely something unusual, or they would not dare to act so brazenly before Huatian Palace.
”Oh, so what is the goal of the Ghost Lair?” Mo Wen asked with a frown. He had known that the Ghost Lair was planning something when he had investigated them in the past. He had almost implicated all the members of the Fengwu Team when he investigated the Ghost Lair. He had thought that Huatian Palace would deal with the situation as soon as possible. However, he did not expect the Ghost Lair to be well prepared. Even Huatian Palace could not find any weaknesses they were able to exploit for the time being.
”I don't know what goals the Ghost Lair have. But I am certain that what they want is something huge. It is possible that they are coming for Huatian Palace. Huatian Palace has already issued the highest order to put in all effort to stop the Ghost Lair.
”Then why have you come to look for me?” Mo Wen asked in confusion. This was such a grave matter. There did not seem to be any difference whether he joined in or not.
”Did you receive a Ten Thousand Soul Banner in the Fighting Spirit Tower? And is this a treasure belonging to the commander of the Ghost Lair?” A hint of a smile appeared on Mo Qingtian's lips. Even though he had not experienced the game of life and death in the Fighting Spirit Tower, he had been able to find out everything that happened inside from the other warriors. The Ghost Lair's leader losing his Ten Thousand Soul Banner had already become a joke amongst some of the top-level warriors.
”You are really well-informed. The Ten Thousand Soul Banner is indeed with me. However, what do the Ghost Lair's plans have to do with the Ten Thousand Soul Banner?”
Mo Wen was not at all surprised that Mo Qingtian knew about some things that had happened in the Fighting Spirit Tower. It was near impossible for ordinary warriors to find out about something like this, but amongst the top-level warriors, some things about what happened in the Fighting Spirit Tower must have spread.
”Do you remember the investigative mission at the Taihang Mountains? It had something to do with the Ghost Lair, and you participated in it then.”
The mission that Mo Qingtian was talking about was the mission in which Pei Fengwu and the entire Fengwu team had almost died at the Ghost Lair's hands. Then, Huatian Palace had suspected that the Ghost Lair had set up a secret altar in the Taihang Mountains. However, Pei Fengwu and the others realized that it was a trap when they went to investigate.
”Actually, the Ghost Lair's real altar is indeed in the Taihang Mountains. However, it is hidden very well. It was hidden so well that Huatian Palace did not even think about it then.” Mo Qingtian said lightly.
”You mean the Ghost Lair really built their altar in the Taihang Mountains? Were we looking at the wrong place then?” Mo Wen asked in surprise.
”It is not that we were looking in the wrong place. It is just that we never expected that the Ghost Lair would be able to hide their altar so well.” Mo Qingtian smiled bitterly.
”Where was the altar hidden?”
”In the seams between spaces.”
”What!” Mo Wen was shocked. Building the altar in the seams between spaces? How was that possible? Even though he was not an immortal cultivator, he had some knowledge of the seams between spaces.
