”He he, Mo Wen. Enemies are bound to meet.” Chu Yuan grinned hideously. He did not mind tormenting Mo Wen, despite the circumstances.

”Indeed.” Mo Wen looked at Chu Yuan. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly. He also smiled with glee.

”Huh? That is…” Suddenly, Chu Yuan realized that something was off. He frantically looked towards the sky and saw the huge monstrous beast circling above. A pair of crimson eyes were looking playfully at him and Mo Wen. Its huge claws were crossed in a human fashion. It seemed to be enjoying the show.

Chu Yuan's expression suddenly changed drastically. He instantly felt a frightening aura from the body of the huge monstrous beast. The aura made him fear for his life. He knew he would be powerless to resist this threat to his life.

”A pinnacle realm Wyvern!” Chu Yuan cried out, looking in disbelief at the sky. His figure was frozen stiff.

He would never have expected that this place would contain a Pinnacle Beast King. Originally, he had charged towards this direction because he noticed that there were few Beast Kings here. Almost no Beast Kings had appeared in this area. He believed that it was very safe, so he had flown over.

He had never imagined that such a terrifying Beast King would be circling above this area. He finally understood why this area had so few Beast Kings. With a Pinnacle Beast King here, what other Beast Kings would dare to come?

”You know quite a lot. That is right. As long as I eat you, I can break through my shackles and become a demon.” The Wyvern Beast King nodded his head. A greedy look flashed in his crimson gaze. Even at its level of cultivation, advancing further and becoming a demon was not an easy feat. By eating just one person, it could complete its metamorphosis and fulfill its long-held dream of becoming a member of the Devil Clan. It could not help but be excited.

He had proof of what he said. All the illusionary beasts on Beast King Island were lives created by the Tower Spirit to test the human ancient martial art practitioners. Since it was to test them, it was impossible for Devil Clan members that exceeded the Beast Kings to appear. Otherwise, it would completely destroy the balance.

Hence, once the illusionary beasts became members of the Devil Clan, they were already of no value. Since they had no value, the Tower Spirit would not possibly let them continue to exist.

”Impossible. The ancestral god would not lie to us. Don't you dare befog my mind or I will eat you first.” The Wyvern Beast King coldly snorted. When it spoke of the ancestral god, its eyes were full of reverence.

Mo Wen smiled. He knew that it was impossible for the illusionary beasts in this space to betray the Tower Spirit and doubt its words.

”Why do you have to eat me first? My companion is an immortal cultivator. His body has been nourished for a long time by spiritual power. He will taste much more delicious than me.” Still smiling, Mo Wen pointed at Chu Yuan. Ever since Chu Yuan had appeared, Mo Wen had calmed down.

In this space, the difference between an ancient martial art practitioner and an immortal cultivator was small. In the Immortal Cultivation world, monstrous beasts did indeed like to eat the flesh of immortal cultivators very much. The most common way a monstrous beast could become a member of the Devil Clan was by using their own bloodline and talent. Eating the flesh of an immortal cultivator was one of these types of fateful encounters.

However, monstrous beasts only ate the flesh of immortal cultivators with very high cultivation of at least the Primordial Soul Realm. Only then were their chances of evolving very high. If they ate an immortal cultivator of the Golden Elixir Realm or even lower, the chances of them evolving were rather slim.

The problem was that it was almost impossible for monstrous beasts to defeat an immortal cultivator of or above the Primordial Soul Realm. Even a Pinnacle Beast King was not on the same level as a Primordial Soul realm immortal cultivator. Hence, the monstrous beasts that evolved into members of the Devil Clan through this method would have done so through fateful encounters, for example, encountering the corpses of already dead powerful immortal cultivators.
