656 Lord Monstrous Beas (1/2)
Just what kind of existence was this tower spirit? What kind of power did it have for it to be able to almost create a world? As long as one's cultivation did not exceed that of the person who had created the Fighting Spirit Tower, any immortal cultivator would be hard pressed to defeat the tower spirit within it.
Mo Wen was having difficulty understanding just how the Purple Bottle Gourd had been able to escape the rules set by the Fighting Spirit Tower.
Mo Wen had already felt that the Purple Bottle Gourd was odd. It was completely different from any other treasures he had encountered. Now, he felt that the gourd was even more mysterious.
Since there was no need to unseal the limitations on the gourd, Mo Wen decided instead to aim to unseal the power of the Five Beast Hoops.
Even though the Five Beast Hoops had an average attack ability, it had strong defensive capabilities. Furthermore, it was highly flexible in that it could both attack and defend. It was a very useful treasure.
There was a glimmer of gold light and the Five Beast Hoops were unsealed. The five bronze hoops were suspended in mid-air. At times, they would turn into beasts, and on other occasions would become hoops. The treasure was amazing and unpredictable.
The Five Beast Hoops corresponded to the five beast halls of the Five Beast Sect. They were the lion, tiger, bull, elephant, and leopard.
The Five Beast Hoops had usually been placed in their respective beast halls. They were the treasure of the beast halls and were not to be used casually.
He Xiangyu had taken the Five Beast Hoops from the halls to capture the treasure of the Luofeng Sect.
However, he did not expect that he would both lose the hoops and not capture the Luofeng Sect's treasure. He had not only failed to get the Cries of Hades Bell and the Dark Soul Pearl, but had also lost the Five Beast Hoops.
Mo Wen waved his hand and the Five Beast Hoops flew over to him. They floated in the air surrounding him.
He would usually need spiritual stones to make spiritual power in order to use the Five Beast Hoops. He would not be able to keep the spiritual weapon around him to protect him for a long period of time.
However, the inner Qi in his body was sufficient to move the Five Beast Hoops. He only needed to release a little bit of inner Qi for the Five Beast Hoops to guard him at all times. It was much more convenient.
Mo Wen flew into the air and rushed towards the altar.
The altar was surrounded by an enormous shield of blue light. The enormous beast king was sleeping inside the light. The light seemed to separate it from everything outside. No matter how loud everything was, it did not awaken the beast king.
Mo Wen had just flown into the air when several seventh rank monstrous beasts flew up as well, attacking him wildly.
Mo Wen pointed his finger and the Five Beast Hoops floating around him turned into five spiritual beasts. They were the lion, tiger, bull, elephant, and leopard.
The power of each spiritual beast was not any weaker than a post seventh rank monstrous beast. Furthermore, they shimmered with the spiritual light of treasures and their attack capabilities were stunning.
The lion roared and a terrifying ripple spread. The beginning seventh rank monstrous beasts that were charging at Mo Wen immediately shuddered. Then, they slowly turned into sparkles of starlight. The elephant beast that was 10 meters tall and 30 meters long lifted its foot and stomped down viciously. There was a crashing rumble and it seemed as though the air was spinning. The monstrous beasts that were charging towards Mo Wen were torn apart and also turned into starlight. The leopard beast had the advantage of stunning speed. It charged at the crowd of monstrous beasts, and everywhere it went, monstrous beasts fell to the ground.
The power of the Five Beast Hoops was now completely released. Not even those from the Five Beast Sect would be able to unleash the capabilities of the Five Beast Hoops so completely. However, in this mysterious space, Mo Wen had made this possible. Like an immortal cultivator, he released the entire power of the Five Beast Hoops.
However, while the power of the Five Beast Hoops was stunning, it took up a lot of inner Qi as well. Mo Wen's inner Qi flowed out so quickly it was almost visible to the naked eye.
The Five Beast Hoops would drain his inner Qi completely in 10 minutes.
Mo Wen laughed bitterly. Even though the power was immense, the expenditure of inner Qi was just too great. It did seem worth it though: the five spiritual beasts that emerged from the Five Beast Hoops were equivalent to five post seventh rank monstrous beasts. They were no weaker than the most highly powerful species.
The five beasts appeared, killing monstrous beasts faster than Mo Wen could alone. In just mere moments, several dozen monstrous beasts died due to the power of the Five Beast Hoops. A huge vortex of starlight enveloped Mo Wen. He could vaguely sense that his cultivation was constantly improving, and was growing at a rate much faster than it had done before.
If he maintained this speed, he could become a martial arts grandmaster in three days.
The monstrous beasts that could fly up into the air were all seventh rank monstrous beasts. Several of them had died, but they would not drop any objects.
There was not any unsealing light, not even of a low-grade. However, five balls of recovery light did fell. The rest of the drops were all healing light.
Mo Wen used the recovery lights the moment he received them. He desperately needed to replenish the terrifying amount of inner Qi he had expended. Fortunately for him, the beasts that had been killed by the Five Beast Hoops had dropped recovery lights, allowing and his inner Qi recovered quickly enough for him to achieve a rough balance.
The battle in the air grew more and more intense. Monstrous beasts kept flying into up to challenge him and the battleground grew wider. The five spiritual beasts were magnificent. Since they were illusions of the spiritual weapons, they could not be injured and nor would they die. As long as Mo Wen had enough power to give them, they could continue to kill monstrous beasts.
Mo Wen looked down at the altar. Many monstrous beasts were in the streets surrounding it. He realized that the other three people would not be able to reach the central altar quickly. As such, Mo Wen knew he could afford to take his time. He remained in the air, continuing to kill monstrous beasts.
The other three humans did not dare to fly in the air like Mo Wen. They knew that, if they were to do so, they would become the first target of all of the monstrous beasts of the seventh rank and above in the ancient city. Even though it seemed difficult on the ground, the air was more dangerous.
