Chapter 227 - XIX City Of Rivers (1/2)
”So this is what he meant by fish” When he appeared at the destination Elijah stared at the skies in shock. Rivers and streams of water floated in the sky far away, forming a marvelous combination between the city and the countless fishes hovering over the land. What really surprised him was that all those fish really powerful, he guessed that all the mortals bellow the ninth realm stand no chance against him.
Just as he stepped out the formation, a voice coming from the structure around him transmitted a voice. ”Welcome to Aeros. You are currently standing in the Drullem Cross right next to the Lenget Plaza. What do you wish to know?”
It took him a while looking at the others around him, normally travelers and merchant with their families until he realized each person was hearing the voice separately which mean those people could not hear what the voice spoke to him while himself had no idea about what they were hearing. Elijah was about to ask about the route he should take to Eternia when he heard a loud noise.
The city looked pretty modern, countless silhouettes flying from one side to the other. Buildings constructed in way he could not even imagine as those figures in the sky grew clearer. Because flying was forbidden, shining trails world form in the air before this strange vehicle would use it to pass from one side to the other. They all had the same pale face, ink-black hair and greyish eyes that reminded him of a familiar face. While reminiscing the past, Elijah can't see a figure approaching and bumping into him.
”Ah, I'm sorry.” Elijah waved his hand to apologize, but saw the figure staring at him with eyes full of hatred like he did something unforgivable. A dozen men suddenly appeared, surrounding him from all sides. This figure was wearing veils all over the body with only the eyes being revealed, beautiful grey eyes just like everyone else, however greyish-black mist would be seen wherever the figure moved.
The men were about to step forward when a voice left from behind the veil. ”Leave him, we have no time. I must find a safe place first.”
Those men could only nod before leaving with this figure toward one of the formations and vanishing into one of the spatial gates. This voice left Elijah kinda stunned, it had both the gentle and melodious of a woman and the bluntness of a man. A second later, he saw a small army of a hundred men that was not hard to see.
With bright-red eyes, anyone could spot them even by countless light-years away. They passed by Elijah and headed to the same formation as the group from before and they certainly had any good intentions toward that figure he saw just before. This red-eyed people were all at the eight realm, they looked like people from the devil territory.
”Should I meddle into this?” Elijah struggled before reaching a answer. It was better to follow his instincts and heart, if something happens so be it. It was better then betray oneself. Walking back he took a amount of Euva from his pocket and gave to the operator in the platform before walking into the gate.
He appeared in the middle of a forest, even without spiritual sense he could hear the steps of the hundred men on the ground and knew the direction they head for. If what he knew was right, he could guess what that figure was passing through. Midway from the source of the steps, he heard a loud bang coming from far away.
”Shit, the battle already started.” Even without trinity or the origins he would not fear mere devils. Increasing his speed, Elijah used the basis of the void steps to move faster even without his cultivation. Like this he could cover a lot more than just running by himself.
Jumping from one tree branch to the other Elijah quickly approached the battle and just like he thought the two groups were facing each other. The energy density in the area rapidly increased as a hundred fiery meteor fell from the sky causing a huge crater. Black smoke spread through the forest, a black-haired man raised his hand where a thin colorless hole in the fabric of reality would devour the incessant energy within meteors.
